She made an interesting comment on her date with Ames, he asked her what she was looking for, and she responded with something like she's a touchy feely person and wants someone she wants to touch...totally paraphrasing. If someone hasn't already posted it, I will look for it tonight. Something to keep in mind with both Ben and JP, those are the things that are hard to edit, IMO.

Good catch! She also said she wants to raise her kids in an urban environment (new york, anyone?). So many little clues keep adding up....

I thought she made that comment to on her date with Ames, about being flirty and not being able to keep you hands off each other.. but she made the same comment to Ryan P when they talked at the party.. Hmm the comment to Ryan was made right after making with JP in the rain.

She mentioned it Ryan during their group 1 on 1, I mistakenly thought it was Ames. She told Ames she was looking for someone who was devoted.

I'll bet you all got your answers already, but since I have that one quote handy... here's the Ryan discussion:

Ryan: What are some things you are looking for?

Ashley: First and foremost, I’m just looking for a feeling. Someone who makes me feel really secure and I also want someone to make me feel like I want to flirt with them and touch them. So I want the physical-ness.

What was so disturbing to me about that scene was that Ryan really wanted to get touchy with her (hand going to her leg, etc.) and she was visibly holding him back. I think, at this stage, she is starting to feel discomfort with everybody but JP. (Bentley's return will be very quick indeed because she is a lot more "over" him than the editors and voice-overs would lead us to believe.)

Ben is the one apart from JP whom she feels most relaxed with... but NOT in the same way.

That kiss with Ben was a bit weird... like they were a little too aware of the cameras. (Now, I got that same vibe with Ed and Jillian, but that was a very different season in oh-so-many ways.) Yet, Ashley and Ben are echoing Trista and Charlie, as very close friends who are completely comfortable with each other but have some sort of peculiar "understanding" about their relationship status. I can't place my finger on it, but after that Ben/Blake/JP discussion during Constantine's date... and the fact that JP was visible in the background when Ashley was being playful with Ben with the mural paint... it feels like Ben already knows the direction this is going and is OK with his "position".

I could be totally wrong here. We've all been fooled many seasons before.

In addition, Ben and Ashley may experience a dramatic turnaround from what I see here. Yet, I'm already getting suspicious about this relationship. Even the fact that Ben told JP to be "patient" just as Ash did... and repeating the "cloud 9" comment with less enthusiasm.

Really, really... odd. Who knows? I'm always prepared to be bamboozled by what I see.

Regarding the bolded comment, and the previous comment about William slapping JP on the back in an almost supportive-cast, congratulatory way -- what if this season there truly was only one bach attracted to Ashley and that was JP? I mean we're seeing a lot of guys with no connection whatsoever, we're hearing most of them felt no connection, and now some of what should be considered top contenders seem to be promoting JP in a way, it makes sense. Maybe the only one that truly wanted Ashley this season was JP, and all the Bentley crap was drummed up as a smokescreen, something to fill the hours until they could all politely bow out? The fake Bentley drama will continue almost until fake Ryan drama starts, and then it's the end, and 3 of the F4 are just placeholders? It's OK for Ashley, as she seems drawn to JP, and she only needs one, right?

I could totally believe that JP might have been the most serious contender and everybody figured that out early on by the very mutual strong attraction between Ash and JP - and went along with it - game over, enjoy the free vacation MOT guys :Nod:

Really, Bentley who???? This girl has been all giggly school girl with JP since night one. I can't imagine him not being F1.

This is exactly what kind of makes me wonder. She has been giddy about JP since the beginning and yet still obsessed with Bentley.

While there were definitely guys that weren't interested in Ashley, I think the real "problem" this season is Ashley. She was in way over her head when she signed on for this. As we have seen, she falls fast and hard for ONE person and has a tough time playing the Bachelorette "game". Not saying there's anything wrong with this...I would have a tough time dating 25 guys too. Once she finally got over Bentley, it was JP and only JP. My guess is that the other guys could see this connection loud and clear. They stayed on for the free vacations, male bonding, etc. No doubt, though, that the later Bentley appearance is being magnified for drama and to not make the JP connection so obvious.

I think the guys know too. Chris L. said he knew Roberto was the one. Other guys commented too after the show, that it was "always" Roberto. I think they want it to be JP..they may not know if it will be, but they see he's in love with her and would propose, and most of them are not there with whatever they feel about Ashley. These guys get close and they talk alot when the camera's are off. I'm sure JP has told them she's the one for him. jmo

Philphan ~ I think you definitely hit on something there! Ashley has
a difficult time playing the Bachelorette "game". That completely makes
sense to me. She falls for one person, and one person only. This is also
the reason the other Bachelors felt no connection with Ashley. She pretty
much closes herself off to everyone else! I would not be the least bit
surprised if she had to be coaxed into initiating kisses with many of them.

I completely agree with that, that's the impression I got when JP, Ben and Blake were talking. Ashley doesn't have much of a poker face, so I'm sure it's very obvious to the guys that are around it all the time.

Every season is so different. Ali's was downright weird. In hindsight, I guess, she felt she was helping Chris L. get over his "guarded-ness" (mother's death, etc.) Almost as if she was playing "shrink" to him. Then again, she may have gone a little too far in that relationship... we saw a very "lopped and chopped" After the Final Rose show.

Of course, what fooled people like me was all of the marriage-oriented talk with Chris. In contrast, Roberto was simply... "hot". It was closer to finale-time when more their relationship was fleshed out on screen. Most of the images people remember from that season as "romantic" come from the Fantasy Suite and finale dates, not earlier in the season. The editors worked overtime to bury that relationship on screen. In addition, they also pushed the Ali/Frank relationship to be more than what it was.

The Big Joke about Jillian's season was that Ed wanted out as early as week #2. (Maybe not THAT early but the way the gossip over the years keeps pushing his gun-shy persona... LOL!) I will say this much for JED. I think those two are still great friends, if not husband-and-wife material (a.k.a. Alex & Amanda), with quite a bit in common. I do think the onslaught of disgust, when his tabloid problems surfaced, was over-the-top. We are talking about the hot-dog expert Bachelorette here, not Doris Day! And she luved her Bad Boys.

One key difference between Ashley and Ali, at least, is that she is not a very good actress. Ali's poker face was pretty convincing... you really never could tell what she was thinking on screen. Some of us are still clueless about that Frankie departure performance. Yet, Ashley is so much more expressive, even hiding under the covers when Bentley dumped her. You can tell she sees Ryan as too "intense" without saying anything. She really likes William a lot, despite what he did at the roast; his exit will have more to do with her evolving feelings switching over to JP, since he is now the "comfort provider" Will failed to be initially. Ben is still coming across to me as Best Man at their wedding... like... like... Charlie, who attended Trista/Ryan's as a reporter!

I know I sound like a broken record or skipping CD here. I am fully prepared to be bamboozled by the producers, but nothing makes sense with a "Ben or nobody" ending and everything makes sense with a "JP or nobody" ending. Of course, they WANT us to believe in a "Bentley or nobody" ending, just like the "Frank or nobody" a year ago.

I don't know how I missed this post earlier JBF ~ I love how you analyze the show! I really appreciate your insight. You don't sound like a broken record ~ you bring information and details to the forefront that I have long forgotten! I often forget details of the past 24 hours! :giggle:
