LOL, i always assumed it was because of Bentley. Didn't Chris H say they almost had to close production because of the guy (as if!)? I'm sure what Will said during the roast didn't help matters, but I think at the end of the day it's a 'Roast' and although Will was immature/insensitive/jerk to Ashley, it's not as bad as what Bentley will have to say.

Wait, I thought Ashley has her 1-1 date with J.P after Bentley leaves? Then why would the cocktail party still be canned?

She def. gets over the insults at the roast and has an after party. Maybe Bentley leaves after her date with JP which leads her to cancel the cocktail party.

Maybe they mean the wrap party for the Roast, if its the RC cocktail party isn't that a couple of days later?

In the press release, they say Ash has the date with JP after the Bentley fiasco. Smiley

I wonder if Bentley tells her outright that he's just not in to her or whether he uses his daughter as an excuse? If it's just the daughter excuse I can see how he could perceivably come back in HK according to RS. But if he tells her she just OK for a quickie, but not that special, how on earth can they bring him back to HK? Are we going to see another Frank/Ali-esque melt down?

My theory over the cancelled cocktail party is she had a crap week, but still had a fab time with JP . She doesn't want to fake being happy with all those strangers at the cocktail party so uses Bentley as her excuse! Kind of like Brad did in Anguilla, after Emily's date.

I'm on-board with this theory. I think she had a crap week and was over it for the time being. I'm sure if Ali could have, she would have canceled every single cocktail party too. rotfl

Yes. I just can't imagine Ashley wearing a skirt or dress with that pattern on it. It has to be a blanket or a throw.

ETA: Definitely a throw. Now that I've looked at the last page of SC's, they all go with the Roast date. She has on the same top--some sleeves up, some sleeves down, and some with leather jacket. Some are on the limey-green couch with various pillows, some in the basket swing, and some (I think) on the purple couch with Bentley. Would they have done the 1-on-1 chat pics BEFORE the Roast? If these 1-on-1 chat pics are all AFTER the Roast, she still seems pretty happy with all the guys; thus, I would not think the Roast had anything to do with her melt-down.

Wasn't that Bentley giving her a big lean-back kiss at the Roast? The nerve of him!

If all he tells her is that he misses his daughter and can't bear to be away from her any longer, I really have a hard time imagining Ashley's reaction being as strong as they've shown it. Over THAT, she's going to crawl under the covers and bawl her eyes out? When they are barely out of the gate, date-wise? She hasn't even had a 1-on-1 with the guy (and this is another point that makes me believe this whole thing with Bentley is really a complete farce. If Ashley was as gung-ho to prove that Bentley wasn't the guy everyone was warning her against, I would have fully expected to see her with him on a 1 on 1 date. The fact that didn't happen really leads me to believe that she's not all that into him, as her voice tone and expressions around him indicate.

As for the Bentley thing, I'm going to guess that he shows some shades of the rude jackass we've been watching... if he tells her point blank, he came for Emily and he's just not that into her, then I could see her reaction - crawling under the covers-- having merit. Especially given that William's roast said the same thing. That's the only way that makes any sense to me.

As for storyline, bringing Bentley back to Hong Kong may have been the producer's push to help Ashley's "journey through her insecurity" come full circle. If Bentley comes back to apologize to her for what he said, it gives Ashley (and the viewers) closure on the Bentley situation, gives Ashley the chance to realize her own worth and reject the jerk, and move on. Then we can all happily root for her to choose an F1, knowing she's moved past her insecurities and realizes she deserves to be happy and loved. When she does choose her F1, it's full circle - she's grown from the girl who couldn't stop being insecure about Brad and came face to face with herself in her season.

Storyline wise, it would be pretty solid.
