So he's definitely the guy in the airport alluded to (on a radio interview, Emily was also asked about Jef being seen in a Charlotte airport).

Regarding the ring, NL comps it for the free advertising. If people are suggesting that Jef/Emily should have refused the ring and asked NL to donate the value of it to charity instead, I'd be very surprised if he, or ABC, would have gone along. The show is supposed to be a fantasy, and not make people think about and resent the amount of conspicuous consumption happening in order to "find love". Their best scenario would be for Jef to buy Emily a ring himself with his own money, and then after 2 years together once they finally own the NL one (if it happens), they can sell the ring and donate the money to charity. Would that satisfy everyone? Hugesmile

Did we have pics and tweets from him for that parents visit? . Didn't he say something like long drive when he arrived and on the way home tweeted the tank top, peace sign pic on a highway?

IDK. Maybe he flew to Charlotte and then drove from Charlotte to SC? I'm pretty sure he was coming from either LA or UT, so doubt he drove all the way from the west coast.

The stylist said they went over the budget for her clothes ... maybe that's why the earlier dates were at parks and her house. Hugesmile

Jef's family is l-o-a-d-e-d. They makes the Hendricks family look poor however the Holm's family is well known in Utah for giving to the community and those in need. Emily won't miss a beat in her preferred style of living.

Please, let's be rational. There is quite a bit of "space" (read: room to fairly comment) between "vow of poverty" and a ring that is 2 times the value of any prior contestant's posted valuation. And her $300k wardrobe. She missed an opportunity to control her public image in a way that some reasonable viewers would not (as I have) derived the impression that she thought this experience was "ALL ABOUT" her.

What is she going for in her Public Image? Kim Kardashian or wife of a hipster/do-gooding/rich kid. Two completely different public images.

Accepting a $90k ring is bad for her public image.

She can wear any damn ring she wants. But the public can fairly question her image. She is a public person now.

I have always thought it would be better to let some guys go at the htd. Why pay the expense of having them fly back just for the rc. After all the f1 doesn't see the other guys anyway.

As far as the ring goes. MF stated that Neil Lane better bring his "A" game. To me that meant his more expensive rings. Does that surprise me. Not in the least. He has gotten his money's worth from the show after all these seasons.

MF also knows this is a season he needed to redeem the show in the public's eyes. So he'd be going all out. JMO

I totally agree. I don't think Emily has the stomach to go through a spill about what the person meant to her and end in a "but" I bet she played the Ali card and told Fleiss she was not going to hurt anymore people! JMO

and I hope she fades into oblivion in the next 3-5 years, just like the rest of 'em

I have a question....if Em picked anyone but Jef (let's say Sean), would those who are complaining about her expensive ring still be doing so??
I think some people are just saying those things because Jef's family is wealthy. I just doubt this conversation would be taking place if Sean was the F1.

please don't put words in my mouth - even if I had issue with the price of the ring (which I don't) my opinoin would be the same if she picked the farmer.

and I hate it when it gets to this point when our opinons on everything are based on who our 'faves' are - which the majority of this boards knows I dont' play that game.

I think most would still rag on about the ring but ABC bought it.She should take the ring and run (with Jef of course)
