I think most guys on this show go in with the "it can't hurt my business/game/life" attitude.

Absolutely! It makes sense too, instead of being presented with 1 person on the show they suddenly have thousands of singles (many who live nearby!) that would very much like to meet them. I want to meet this man and I haven't even seen him on TV yet.

I don't know why some people (not in this thread) get their feathers ruffled when it's suggested people go on the show to attract attention to their business (hello Roberto, you did NOT need to be on The Bette to attract ladies.) That's just plain smart, and if they have a great time or actually fall in love that's icing on the cake!

Miss you too! Trying to keep high-level eye to keep galleries updated without spoiling, but it's tough! And I know I will not be around to watch last 2 eps and ATFR, so I might break... If I get spoiled anyway (ppl RTing RS on Twitter), then i'll have to pretend I don't know when I blog!

EXACTLY! Just like they won't cast unnattractive or overweight people, and they haven't cast a woman over 34 in a LONG time, there are always few women over 30 and most don't make it very far, So you could say they discriminate on a lot of things

Fleiss did a whole spinoff of the Bachelor based around an overweight bachelor with overweight bachelorette contestants competing for him. It aired on different network only for one season. Fleiss is open to showing a variety of people but, common sense he has to play to his demographics to get ad dollars and keep shows on the air. That's business not racism. Plus, people seem to forget this about love and hwo the leads are attracted to and interested in dating. It does no good, except for tokenism, to cast people or types the leads haven't expressed interest or openness in dating.

Yea, I mean it is technically discriminatory to do a SEPARATE show for just overweight people, but yea, I don't think it would get good ratings to change anything the show is doing now. Just like they don't cast new people for the lead anymore, the ratings would suck.

But Roberto is hispanic and if he were the Bachelor, their ratings would be awesome because it still follows their formula...

This dude's hot...but I feel bad he's being used as a token. They should try him as the next Bachelor.
