Have to disagree, she would have eliminated him the first night and not taken him on the first date AND given him the rose. No one can tell with these small snapshots in time what they really felt until we see the whole scene played out on the show...I'll wait until then to see how she feels about each of the guys.

I wonder what the heck is up with these awkward M&G photos b/c he got the very public 1st 1:1 and made it mid way through the season...totally clueless but if he is the sweetie we think he is then maybe she has a new friend!! I see him being the guy version of her in a weird way & being from the SE they surely have some sort of connection right? Unless he is like Jake and or Casey I am still on the Ryguy wagon! :Knight:

No wonder MF predicted that Emily wouldn't be kissing anyone till end of episode 2! They probably had him pegged for the first 1:1, expecting him to become an instant favorite of Emily's as well as the fans - and I can't help but remember Emily being prodded by the producers to dance and interact more with Ryan on one of the videos.

I think she kept him around because he was a better catch than most of the other matter-of-time guys she let go earlier, but I honestly don't see anything between them at all.

Truly, the pictures released of Ryan and Emily make it almost obvious that the train to Lovesville was never leaving the station. The shots are so stilted that I'm completely dumbfounded by their first 1:1 date. Did the show at that point want him as the next lead?

I remember that Brad and Emily's shots of their 1:1 time during the M & G weren't very "friendly" either. Emily was somewhat reserved there too.

I'm wondering if Ryan takes the traditional first date role on in which he basically becomes insecure and jealous as the weeks progress. I'm wondering if some of the drama doesn't originate with him, questioning their great connection. Or if Ryan speaks up about the "intentions" of some of the guys in the house given that he seems to be protective of women. Or perhaps the fact that we see some awkward chemistry speaks for itself: they try to connect because of all their similarities but it never really takes flight, so after weeks of trying, Ryan decides to leave or Emily thinks it best to free him.

It will surely be interesting. Still heart him, but I may need to set my fangirl reign aside for genuine sleuthing once May 14 rolls around.

...plus I believe TPTB jumped at the chance to showcase this 'very attractive' candidate at the 'very public' date....get the PR rolling for the show via pics and videos and utilized him to the best of their ability before he 'might' be sent packing! Ryan would have been PR gold for promoting the upcoming season!

I agree. He is the best looking of the entire cast this time and tptb jumped on the chance for a little promo including the fine Ryan.

On another note - I'm pretty sure most of the girls from Bens season are waiting for this season to get done with so that they can call dibs on Ryan.

Kalon does not arrive by helicopter for 21 minutes after the guys are finished exiting the limos.

Ryan was the last guy out which is usually the last, big impression she is supposed to have before she goes into the house to meet the guys. Unlike the F1 girls, heartthrobs F1 Ian and Jerry exited last.
This tells me what the producers thought of Ryan's looks and his potential prospects at least. Since they didn't hide him a couple back like they have done lately, though, the producers may in the back of their minds have suspected there was something that wasn't going to jive between the two of them. The were, however, certainly going to capitalize on his looks.
