Episode 6 - 2/17 - Sweet Home Alabama 3 - Discussion

I watched the show and here are just some of my random thoughts ...in no particular order.

1. Jeremiah's response (or lack of one) to Paige is so opposite of that of Courtney on the Bachelor. It would be easy to lead Paige on after she said she was falling in love with him in order to be "winning." The fact that he chooses to not reveal details of their developing relationship to the other guys says to me that he is not seeing this as a competition with them. He seems to be choosing privacy as a way honoring Paige and the growing feelings toward each other...trying to keep it special and between them.

2. One way that you could take his lack of response was that he didn't care as deeply or that he really wasn't sure. The fact that Jeremiah chose to read the Bible instead of working out with Paige and the guys might mean that he was seeking God as to what to do with the feelings he was having. Jeremiah and Paige both seem to be followers of Christ. If true, I know that that would be a pretty significant step (seeking God) in the process of falling in love. Paige has often shared in interviews how she would ask the Lord for guidance in her decision making on the show. I'm not trying to get too deep or project my feelings onto either of them, but it could explain the lack of response. He's just being cautious and respectful and not wanting to lead Paige on if this isn't right. He needs/wants to be sure. After all, a reality tv show is really a crazy way to fall in love...even though I am always suckered in to believing it's true.

3. The hammock scene had major editing taking place and I believe multiple takes. When Jeremiah kisses Paige and then gets them up quickly out of the hammock, Paige seems to get out first. This is the scene taken from behind, but when the camera is switched to the front, Paige is shown kind of getting stuck in the hammock and is the last one out. The multiple takes could explain the blanket being on and off as well as Paige being seemingly upset...maybe even having cried a little between takes. If my speculation is true, she might have been frustrated in being interrupted and not being allowed to talk it out with Jeremiah. It would also be understandable to be frustrated/upset about something so special and important happening and not having the privacy or control in the situation.

4. As someone pointed out in another post, Paige does remind me of Jillian. Both seem to wear their hearts on their sleeve. I appreciate the sincerity that each brought to their respective dating shows...both seem to have given it a genuine shot and opened their hearts to falling in love. As a recovering Jedhead, I was reminded of Ed's tender touching of Jillian's face and hair when Jeremiah was doing the same to Paige. Sorry if I offend anyone by comparing Jeremiah to Ed, Jeremiah is clearly not Ed. I do believe, though, that we were privy to some genuine feelings in both shows. :hidingchair

5. I really appreciate how Jeremiah owned up to his mistake of going after little Shaun after having too much to drink. He seems to be sincere in his PI. He doesn't rationalize or excuse his behavior. Other reality "stars" should take a lesson from this. Yeah, I'm talking to you, B'ette girls!!

Thanks Carrie for tweeting them about it. I am trying to be patient, but it is hard to wait for things you really want to see.

Remember, last season there was one episode that was not available to view until the day before the next episode aired.

I was just reading through the SHA Season 3~Contestants~Spoilers thread. Love_Me posted on Jan 15 an interview from CelebDirtyLaundry. Here's a quote from Paige following a question:

What would be your number one tip for those out there who are currently seeking the love of their life?

Hmm…well, that was me about 2 months ago. I tried not to think about it because Mama always said it will come when you least expect it! She said, “When you see the person you will know.”

Paige said something very similar to that when she and Jeremiah were in the hammock. Another sign pointing to Jeremiah as F1...not that anyone here is doubting it. :winkie:

Been thinking all day about what to post about last nights Sweet Home Alabama...what an intense episode. So many emotions from me and the guys. City Shaun is coming around & now you see some of the guys I saw and Joey can't ice skate LOL. I can't tell you how surreal the whole experience was & how strange it is to be dating on television yet developing very real feelings. Last night was the saddest I've been at elimination. Donny Fallgatter & Dustin Tavella are wonderful guys but my heart was not with them. Jeremiah James Korfe (Jeremiah James) couldn't open up. Do you think he just isn't feeling the same way or is he playing mind games with himself? How would you react to someone saying they were falling in love with you but yet they were dating other people?

I just checked for the 100th time today and the episode is still not available. Is CMT the only site carrying the episodes this season? I could not find it on Hula.

My screencaps will have to wait. Plus, I wanted to see everything that happened.

I just need to focus on something else for the time being. :whistle: :geek:

I have some good news and some not so good news.

The good news is I found this episode uploaded by TV Grapevine.

The bad news is their logo is visable so I will wait until CMT makes this episode available before I make my screencaps.

Finally got to finish watching this weeks episode. Sad to see Donny go - what a great guy! Dustin too.

Totally shocked as to how much my view toward Shaun has changed.... didn't see that coming, and I don't think Paige or some of the other guys did either!

Jeremiah's outburst, although not excusable, shows how much he really seems to care about her... kinda reminds me of JP.

My favorite is still Bubba, but she really seems to favour Jeremiah.

My only problem with her eliminations is that I think she should have let young Shaun go a long time ago. He's 21 and she was never going to pick him, I think she was just delaying the inevitable to spare his feelings especially after his horse died... but I think this should have been a case of "you gotta be cruel to be kind". 21 is a rough age and she should have just got it over with before he got his hopes up.

I guess the show had her keep Shaun for a reason.
