I feel the same way. To be honest I think they decided to make Ezra A after the show was renewed for a 5th season. Prior to that there was nothing about Ezra that would make you believe he was A. Yes, he had a past but, not like this. You can't have this kind of temper and keep it hidden for three years, and then like overnight it comes out. Even with Toby, Mona, CeCe and Lucas you understand why they may be angry with Ali. But, there was nothing, and it is just too much that does not make sense. Wasn't Ezra in Europe with Jackie the summer Ali was having this affair with Board Shorts or whoever? And just judging from the little we saw of Jackie, I don't see her sitting back while another woman moves in on her man. Ezra did tell Aria that he and Jackie had not been broken up that long when they met. I guess I just want to know when did he and Ali have a chance to be together, when he and Jackie attended the same college and were together most of their time in college. In the end it may be Ezra, but, I will always believe it was not the original plan.

After the summer finale, there was an article saying that Ian Harding had a movie role and was requesting to take a break from filming, but the producers said no because they came up with the "A" idea. So agree it happened randomly. Also agree with everything else you said. Still in denial and hoping he's not really that creepy because there is just no way.

I hope he has a twin, that is the only thing that make sense.  I have rewatched all the seasons at least twice and this Ezra is not the first three seasons Ezra.  There are two many things that don't add up unless he is a twin.

Crazy busy yesterday, just now watched the epi. My thoughts:

The real Ezra has to be trapped in he basement of that cabin! I'm glad you all were also thinking it has to be a twin too (or 'A' had plastic surgery to look like Ezra...okay I know that's too far fetched ha ha!). Even when Aria said he was always the one, Ezra didn't even look pleased (in that he was happy or his plan was working).  If they're really going to sell Ezra as A, they're going to have to start giving us snippets of why or show both aspects of his 'multiple personalities' b/c all I've seen is a guy who looks like Ezra but has none of the traits they presented for three seasons.

Mr Hastings is full of secrets. Loved his face when spencer answered the door!

The 'where is Ezra' continues tonight!??!  If they expect to sell EzrA, then they've got to show the Ezra they've had for 3 seasons at least partly. Otherwise, to me, The s/l is VERY lacking and VERY disappointing!  His interactions with Aria and Maggie was just weird, he didn't even try to be the concerned teacher w Ems dad, etc.  Not sure what tptb are trying to sell, but so far I'm not impressed.

I am so confused, it's not even funny. Plus, Ali looks like she aged 10 years from when she first started the show.

I think they are trying waay to hard to make Ezra A...I have lost interest I am now watching out of habit.  I use to love this show, now, not so much. Either show his face under the hood or bring back the real Ezra.  

Amen. I was so annoyed by this episode, not only is he "A" he's also board shorts? and since when does Ezra like pie?? The rest of the season is not going to be fun. Ugh what a waste.

The twin thing is the ONLY thing that makes sense from the story they're telling.  They're not showing a Jeckyll-Hyde type (all we see is the 'evil Hyde'). The only time this season I've thought we'd seen Ezra was when he gave Aria the key at the cabin, but after rewatching it, not so much...  So, I only see 2 options, either he's a twin OR we're supposed to buy that he's been evil all along (which is ridiculous).  I hope the rest of the season gets better.

If you don't get a chance to read the script here is a summary of 4x25

It's real, there are other scripts that leaked at the same for episodes that just aired and they're word for word the same. Anyway, here's a synopsis.

While the cops try and find the girls after finding out Alison is alive and the girls are MIA, Noel takes the girls to where Ali is hiding out. Ali recounts the events of the night she went missing, and it's revealed her mother was the one who buried her alive after -A smashed her over the head with a rock. Her mother was covering for -A. After Grunwald got her out Ali took off down the road from the hospital, and Mona pulled up next to her. Mona took her to a safe place and cleaned her up while Ali spilled her guts. Mona decided to take the -A moniker up for herself after Ali took off, so that's how that happened.

It's also revealed Ezra was seeing Ali that summer and thought she was older, and when he found out he got angry with her, but he didn't try to kill her. He was the guy she got in the car with that Toby saw.

Spencer's dad suspects Spencer murdered the girl in Ali's grave but Melissa who mysteriously returned tells her dad she didn't, and he realizes who did, but it's not revealed to us who it was.

Right before Alison is about to leave the country with the passport Noel acquired for her -A starts firing shots into the building the girls are in. They run up to the roof and -A chases them, shooting at them. Ezra followed the girls there and gets into a fight with -A for the gun, and -A shoots him before dropping the gun. Hanna gets a hold of the gun but before she can make -A unmask him/herself they jump across a building rooftop. The camera pans back and reveals they're in Manhattan, not Philly like the police thought.

Back in Rosewood someone is seen burying Jessica DiLaurentis' dead body.
