Well the players pre-SB never knew there would be a SB someday. They still mean that same thing, best NFL team that season (or the one playing the best at the right time if you prefer).
The Super Bowl has been around for 49 years now they do not mean the same as a NFL championship . Like I said before ask any player would they rather win a NFL championship or win the biggest honor the Super Bowl.
And some of the best players the NFL has seen played in the pre-SB era. That time is not to be forgotten and still counts when looking at NFL Championships. The players now would say SB because that's all they know. But I can guarantee the NFL Championships mean the same to the players who earned them as the SB means to players today.
I will agree on that but the game is no where what it use to be. We are talking 49 years ago.

Yes the game is different today (mainly you can't play defense like they used to). But to forgot all NFL history to the SB seems very short-sided.

Both are great teams. The Packers go ahead with greatest NFL coach ever in Vince Lombardi. They even named the trophy after him.
No takers on the perfect season debate? That is no fun. And really the only thing the Dolphins have. Shula is good, he is no Lombardi, but he was really good.

No one here is forgetting ALL NFL history there were so many great players and coaches during that era. I am referring about the now since we do have the Super Bowl and how the game has changed in all aspects not just defense .

^Well we will have to agree to disagree. You only want to look at SB and the modern era. I prefer to look at the totality of NFL history.

Yes I do look at the modern era but I also respect the time before we had the Super Bowl. I live in the now but never will forget how the game first began when there wasn't even a team called the Dallas Cowboys.

Happy for Peyton for the all time touchdown record! Happy to see him take away the record from Farve. I was sad when Favre took it from Marino.
Peyton is still behind Favre in passing yards record, but will probably pass him in that as well (another record took from Marino). But Peyton is close to 5000 yards behind Favre in this catagory.

Peyton got this record in 56 fewer games than Favre so you never know but I'm just glad he passed him for the touchdown record.
This is an interesting article about Peyton. I'm surprised they didn't ask Dungy for his memories.

Thanks for the link agree with everything they said but would of been great to hear Dungy's comments.

Dungy had some odd comments about Adrian Peterson and also Ray Rice, I think some are hesitant to talk to him right now.
Peyton is much better than Favre to me, just want to clarify that Favre is still the all time passing leader. I expect that by next season that Peyton will pass him for that as well.
