Bachelorette 18 - Michelle Young - General Discussion - *Sleuthing Spoilers*

I apologize I don't remember which SM captured that. In the international threads, after intense sleuthing of contestants, and once vids clips and previews are shown, they were able to identify contestants who appeared to be later in the season because they weren't shown earlier, plus they were missing some contestants as far as the number.

Ben also had Amanda Stanton Emily/Haley/twins, meet their moms, and later Emily meets Ben's parents on a date. Nikki/JPG also had her meet his family on a date. In both cases there were children in the mix. Amanda obviously didn't make it, but Nikki did.

Interesting observation. If there are others, please chime in!

Nick had dates in his hometown early. Raven met his parents at his sister’s soccer game and his youngest sister at a roller rink.
Ben had an early date with the twins and went to their mom’s house.
Someone had some of his family come to the women’s place and they had chats with each one. Was it Chris S?

How far in advance do producers usually start notifying the families for hometowns? Like does the lead generally have an idea of who they’re taking to hometowns, so the producers just contact those?

I was told from a reliable source the family was contacted two weeks or so before. They were given strict instructions not to tell anyone other than the people who were going to be present for the HTD and not to talk to media. The contestant ended up having a HTD and once production got there they moved furniture around and made a mess. They also told the family, don't' worry if he's not the F1 he'll be TB. That was Ben. I had many conversations with this particular contact who was with me from start to the time he was going to be picked up by the limo.

I would say yes, the lead knows well in advance jmo.

When was the last time on the Bachelorette season had both men show up at FRC? One being dumped sadly & One happily chosen? Like where are the 2 limo entrances, two men all decked out?

It seems like a long time unless I missed something before Clare's season It seems like lately the F2 is dumped a day or so before the FRC is supposed to take place.

Ok thanks. I mean 2 years ago seems like an eternity especially when the last 3 Ette's let go of the F2 before FRC, . Well Clare technically dumped all her men for Dale, well before the round of 16.

I kind of want to see a regular FRC in Michelle's season. However, I will understand if she doesn't have it in her to hurt a guy that way making him show up all dressed up just to be dumped.

I believe Ali was the first ette to let her F2 go early. I don't remember if that happened prior to her season. SCMIIW

I personally like that. It's awful to see a F2 who thought they'd be the F1, to be let go (aka Nick).

Yes I definitely understand not wanting your F2 be all dressed up for a dumping. It is easier to let them go before the FRC to save some heartbreak & embarrassment.

Michelle seems like a woman who would let her F2 go in this manner a day or so before the FRC. IMO.

F4 speculation.  Can’t believe we are even here so soon! Who would you for sure rule out for a HTD from the remaining list?  I would take Peter Izzo, Leroy and Spencer off the list.

I agree I don't think Peter Izzo made it to the F4. I think Nayte and Maybe Joe is in the F4. We just have not seen her with too many other guys except for those three, so hard to even know who where still in the F6/F9

My F4 would be the following: (all off a blind presumption here, )
1. Clayton
2. Christopher G.
3. Jaimee
4. Nayte (only because he had late 1-on-1 dates within 5 days of each other)


*I also believe Rodney has good chance of being in the F4 (again just speculating)*

As a fellow teacher, I've been thinking about Michelle and how she is handling this school year. By this point, most teachers have either returned to work for the new school year, or will shortly. Setting up a classroom, especially at the elementary level, can take days worth of work. My best guess is that Michelle's family and friends might be helping out with this in her absence. And while most principals and districts would frown on taking this much time off at the beginning of the year, they must have made a special exception for Michelle.

I guess the question is when she will be returning to work. The hotel in Minneapolis is booked through the 29th. RS reports that they will be filming through mid-September. It will be rough for her to return to the classroom after having a substitute take over, but at least she will be engaged!
