Breaks ups are always sad but they seem to be doing a good job co-parenting. I hope that always continues for the children sake regardless of who Ashley and JP meet in the future.

This one just makes me sad.

I respect them for not breaking their commitment to be good co-parents and sharing what differences led to their split. I do find it interesting though that JP filed ....

Rationally, I KNOW I don't personally know these people & it will have zero effect on my life, but it makes me so sad & tearful. Wish everything good for both of them & their beautiful children in the future.

@Norcalgal GMTA this is what I thought.

If Ashley filed, she would get blamed for filing as if it's a bad thing, even though that's the final step in a separation. Since he filed, if there are any negative comments, he'll take it rather than Ashley. It makes him look like the bad guy (not to me) for filing which confirms no hope of reconciliation.

@4merBachAddict I know. Even though we do not know them, following them for all these years, watching them get married, moving, having children, it certainly tugs at your heart a little. It's been 10 yrs already!

This makes me sad knowing that they couldn't make it work out. I'm glad they are still friendly and co-parenting.

Beautiful children smiles. Dad's not so bad himself.

As for JP filing, there comes a time when you have to end it in order to start the healing process. You cannot stay in limbo forever hoping that one day things are going to miraculously fall into place. If there is no progress being made in a positive direction after this length of time and you are not content to be alone for the rest of your life, you have to begin to move on. JMO
