@Bobette thanks. I thought it wasn't for awhile yet, especially if TB hasn't even began filming. But I wasn't sure if filming was pushed back due to COVID.
They desperately need to get it right this time IMHO.

Re: Bachelorette Australia - Season 7 - Brooke Blurton - General Discussion - *Sleuthing Spoilers*
I agree it's really still too early for the lead to have been officially called. They haven't even announced who the Bachelor is and they don't announce the Bachelorette until April-ish(?). They may very well have Renee targeted as #1 but there's still a lot of time for her to either mess up their plans somehow (such as a boyfriend becoming public knowledge, just as a possible example) or for them to find someone else.
As for diversity, I think the lead can be anybody, really. The lack of diversity in casts - and the POC on those casts being sent home early - is probably the more enduring issue. However literally every POC I've spoken to IRL about reality shows says that family expectations and cultural norms probably have a lot to do with why you don't find many POC even auditioning or signing up in the first place.

Sportsbet are still iffy on Renee too. At 2.50 they know she's a top contender IMO, but if she'd been signed or they were super confident she'll get it the odds would be closer to 1.25, like Not-Tommy-Little.

Another ridiculous rumour that Melissa is a hot favourite to be the next Bachelorette.

sounds like Ten getting some Masterchef cross promotion
the comments are fairly mean but one of them has a point; assuming this was true ( ) who believes a newly separated woman wants to be Bachelorette? She'd still be legally married when filming. She'd be looking for a rebound, not a serious commitment. NAGL, definitely wouldn't make anyone thinking about being a contestant that the show was really serious about making a new relationship.

You'd want to post about that in the Other International Reality forum. There was a thread for MAFS 7 here

Casting is open, with filming scheduled for mid June - mid August. And seems like they've opened applications for our lead Bachelorette too - too long for a wait time for Renee perhaps?

Re: Bachelorette Australia - Season 7 - Brooke Blurton - General Discussion - *Sleuthing Spoilers*
For me Renee is still the most likely Lead. Unless she starts posting pics with a new man or hard partying, she still seems too guarded/well-behaved to not be considering it IMO.
Several past contestants have said they got cast on one show when applying for the other (e.g. Carlin claiming he was almost Bach ) so the call for a female Lead doesn't mean they haven't already chosen one IMO.
And then there's this. Accusing MAFS of being a whiteout when Bette is almost as bad? Sounds like she's protecting the brand IMO, just like a prospective Lead would do...

The Wash are saying they've stumbled across our Bachelorette.. but would they already have someone gearing up when Bachelorette filming doesn't start for another 3.5 months??
Some other comments from The Wash's IG post.
The Wash also believe Bachelor filming has started.
The Wash wrote:In a bit of an unexpected twist, The Wash may have accidentally stumbled upon this year’s Bachelorette in Sydney on Tuesday.
We overheard that the woman is called Sierra, and is from South London but now lives in Australia.
In all honesty, she may be The Bachelorette, she may just be a contestant on The Bachelor or she may even be on another random reality show.

Re: Bachelorette Australia - Season 7 - Brooke Blurton - General Discussion - *Sleuthing Spoilers*
She may just be "a" Bachelorette, ie a contestant on this season of Bach. Will copy over to that thread.
ETA: Something seems off here. I'm always suss on anything The Wash reports but how would they have "over heard" her name, where she was born, the fact that she was in Australia... but not know for sure which show she was on?
The Wash have direct links with the paps and I'm SURE the paps would recognise Bach crew & handlers by now. If this woman does end up next Bette it would suggest TPTB cast her with the Lead in mind (maybe even promised it to her?)
That said I get a villain vibe from her so maybe just an MoT with attitude...

Looks like Renee has signed on with this modelling agency.

Makes me think she might not be Lead after all since if she was she wouldn't need to grind for gigs/publicity.
