I'm disappointed by this behavior, but not surprised. It seems to me that influencers should not have been affected by the pandemic all that much. How many of them stopped visiting friends, going out, partying, or traveling? Even if they stayed closer to home, a creative influencer can always come up with a post.

Unfortunately they were far from being the only people to make a grab for those funds.

Here is Jason explaining PPP and why he chose not to apply. He says that while he lost his income from public speaking, influencing on SM actually went up a lot during Covid, so it didn't feel right.



It seems like Colton is somewhat off the hook, since he applied for his foundation that he doesn’t ha an income from.

That was a good explanation by Jason. I assumed they would have to pay the loans back but not necessarily. That's why I like him so much, that he's honest about it and imo, did the right thing.

For some, it makes sense. For instance, Peter Kraus owns a gym, and gyms took a hard hit during the pandemic. But for those whose primary incomes come from influencing, or who have multiple income streams, I'm going to give them side eye.

Apparently it's not that difficult to apply for, and get loan forgiveness. Some of the money was also given out as grants.

I worked for a larger accounting firm when the PPP loans were first introduced, I was disgusted watching the vultures go for the "grab". Needless to say I don't work for that firm any more. Those PPP loans were supposed to keep small businesses afloat.
