Bachelor Australia - Season 8 - Locky Gilbert - Episodes - Discussion - *Sleuthing Spoilers*

I haven't watched this season since the 2nd episode but just from scrolling through the hashtag on Twitter, Bella seems to be extremely well-liked by the general audience so yeah... fully expecting her to be rewarded with the Bachelorette gig. I think the guys would at least be into her, which is a step up from Angie/Elly/Becky.

Honestly, her numbers don't seem that suspicious to me. She's young, pretty (I saw a comment on Reddit comparing her to Alicia Vikander and now I can't unsee it), has a very aesthetic feed, and seems to be getting a ton of screentime. She would fit right in with the US girls who break the 1 million mark.

ETA: I just had a look at her engagement rate and she's been averaging 5-7k likes on her photos ever since the show started airing and just hit 56k followers. Which is roughly a 10-12% engagement rate, and anything above 6% is considered to be very high. So I do believe her followers are real. She's just gaining more than everybody else because she's this season's It Girl. All JMO.

From Facebook, they don't like Irina. Said she is a dobber for telling Roxi Bella and Locky has a kiss. Also said she is jealous and two faced.

I really thought it was Locky who leaned in and kissed Bella. Did anyone else see that or is it just me? I thought Irena showed a lot of maturity and class by attempting to comfort Roxi .. who I think is sexy AF but not so much when she’s got the sourpuss face on (which is a lot). I actually can see that she’s got very very deep insecurities, highly sensitive and emotional (despite the “tough” exterior) and I don’t think this format is suited to her ... I feel for her in some ways and she’d need a really patient and understanding guy to help her get thru whatever issues she’s got. When Locky told her he has interests in other girls too ... very obvious that he’s not the guy.

I’m not really feeling a connection with anyone on the show and not very impressed with Locky as the Bachelor.

Me me me!! I said this in my comment during the episode, it was Locky who leaned in first. He didn't want Bella to get up and leave, so he kissed her.

See, I knew they were highlighting Izzy last week for a reason this week. She's got the first zoom date tonight!

I think they're cutting a lot out re: kissing.  No way IMO he didn't kiss Roxi on their rugby SQT (his nose/chin is red in the ITMs - I posted screenshots upthread) but they didn't show it because it didn't fit the narrative that episode.  

Bella's not special IMO other than they had a pre-show agreement so he knew he could go for it, and she's being given the It Girl edit as @Hawaii Girl says upthread.  He would have kissed any of them given the opportunity, IMO.

Yep and as a member said here there is no way his comfortable quick peck with Irena post fencing was their first kiss. He would kiss anyone - my partner and I were saying last night how bizarre it was on the couch with the "psychic" how affectionate he was with every single one of them.

Bel in particular. She only appears in the top 10 initial zoom and then we don't see her again.
And Juliette and Maddy are in the onesies and then they disappear too.

Do we believe the tabloid piece about Juliette and Roxi falling out? That would mean Locky brings both of them back to the mansion post-lockdown. The Matrix photos start up again on 6 July and they say it's the first day of filming. Then the 7 July he picks the final four. This means he brings three girls back for 24 hours. Surely they're not that cruel?!

I just watched and Bella and Locky's kiss was so premeditated imo.  When they were talking, there were no girls in the background, only the cameramen.  When they kissed, the girls magically appeared

That's a good point.  There would have to be a RC two days in a row.  Doesn't seem to make sense.  Either they don't make it back or Matrix have it wrong.
