Peter Weber - Bachelor 24 - Discussion

I’ve stated my criticisms of Peter based on his podcast tour but I have positives to balance it out.
On Viall Files, the way Peter explained his relationship and break up with Hannah Ann showed him taking ownership and ended with what equated to issuing an apology to her.
In a couple podcasts Peter gave specifics about why he and Madi concluded they weren’t compatible during their post-AFR breakup talk. By him sharing some details, assumably accurate, Madi could be freed from being asked about it if she does future interviews given the answers are already in the public domain.
On AF I felt Ben pushed hard for Peter to share Ben’s POV that Barb was wrong. Peter wasn’t swayed. Perhaps a sign that Peter is becoming less of a people pleaser since Ben had been his main advice giver yet Peter refused to compromise his view.
He answered all the questions and provided details beyond what was asked. Nothing hidden. Yes, vague on his current something with Kelley but clear about everything else.

Glad to hear, @notarose, that maybe Peter is growing. One can only hope that he's utilizing the feedback about his season to develop personally and maybe change some of his relationship dynamics.

As for him and Kelley, the guessing game keeps people's interest, which likely was the intention behind TPTB arranging this mini-media tour. FWIW, Kelley calls Peter out and can probably read through any line/s he'd try to give her evidenced on their 1:1 date. She's such a smart, strong lady that she must know what she's doing. Maybe it's just a way to pass quarantine without being alone.

Peter came off pretty likeable on the pods to me as well. I think a major part of it is him accepting responsibility for his actions without ever deflecting blame or trying to gloss over it. Jmo.

You are a lot more forgiving than I am. Personally I still think something is up for us to be getting this overload of Peter. He didn't get squat and now all of a sudden he has had this hallelujah moment??? Not buying it.

Maybe but if he had done a press tour immediately following AFR what would it have been about? Unknown at the time was the situation with Madi. I suppose the typical lead post-show media blitz could have happened 2-3 days later after they put out their mutual statements.
What might be up is that Peter and Kelley are now open to talking about being together. New news as an endnote to rehashing the old.

Eh, nothing is going on in the bachelor universe during this time of quarantining. I can see TPTB giving him the go ahead to do all of the podcasts at the same time especially since all of them have to be scheduled.

The fact that the photos leaked of him in Chicago with Kelly probably was enough to get the wheels in motion. His name was out in media again during the slim times for media. TPTB just took advantage of it with the various podcasts that they approve of. I mean, look at the ones he did: Viall Files (previous lead), BHH (ABC official show podcast with 2 previous leads), Almost Famous (previous lead and "fan" favorite Ashley I), and Off The Vine (previous lead). None of these are going to dig really deep because they all want to stay on TPTB's good side.

The one I would listen to him on would be Reality Steve... never gonna happen though!

I think part of the reason alumni hosts are getting greater access is because the franchise supports its own. It’s common to see nepotism in business and podcasts about Bach keep the franchise in the spotlight. Agree that none of them want access to interviewing cast cut off. BHH and AF in particular rely solely on alumni guests.
In this case, hosts seem to like Peter but IMO all would welcome interviewing Luke P.

So why do you think Peter had a bunch of interviews released on the same day? Do you think TPTB just want to keep the franchise publicity machine fed? Or do you think Peter told them he and Kelley were going to be more than quarantine buddies in the future and get ready for it? Or - any other theories?

There might be many reasons.
I think “buzz” is 1 reason. The franchise was getting buzz off of Hannah and Tyler. She returns to her family and we get a Peter blitz. Interesting timing, During quarantine the usual pattern has been disrupted. Usually we would have salacious “leaks” about new cast for the Bette season and leaked pics of ongoing Bette filming keeping sleuthers occupied and giving rag mags clickbait. We would also have events for alumni to attend which keeps the franchise in the news.
IDK why on the same day. They are all podcasts with former lead hosts so maybe releasing all on the same day avoids favoritism.

We haven’t defined our relationship. We just live together.

Well we will see how long this relationship lasts wait till quarantine is over and he gets back to work I think eventually he will get bored and move on to someone new jmo
