Re: The Bachelor Live On Stage - Discussion
Went to this show and have to tell you it was 100% cheesy but so much fun! Audience was 95% women - most were under 35, with most of the women all dressed up! The time flew by so I can only imagine how tired Ben and Becca are after each show.
Becca was so natural before the live audience - even moreso than Ben. They play off each other quite well. I suspect they might have auditioned several candidates as his co-host to see where the chemistry was the best. Lots of outfit changes - Becca looked fabulous in each outfit! Ben was wearing sparkly blazers but looked most himself on the 'home visit' set when he looked like Mr Rogers!
I can see how the participants chosen (Bachelor and this show had 9 women bachelorettes) can make or break the live event. For the introductions, they had a backdrop of the mansion driveway with a mock-up limo for each entrance! There were 2 group dates right off - we saw both vignettes on GMA with Rasheed Jennings. The lip sync really showed off he women's personalities - much more so than the Q & A of the first date. There was a Back-to-School segment with the Bachelor as the Principal and Becca and Ben dressed like the stereotypical teachers, with the theme Naughty or Nice. When it was narrowed down to 4 women, there were hometown visits with each of the contestants sitting on the couch and the Bachelor asking questions he supposedly crafted himself. If he wanted a follow-up question from a particular woman, he could elect to sit beside her and ask that question. For the 'overnight' dates, the set included a cabana with sheer draperies that the couples could use for 3 minutes to get to know each other. While the couple was in it, Ben or Becca answered questions that audience members had asked via IG. Went into FRC immediately afterwards!
Rose ceremonies - first impression rose, introductions - followed by immediate RC; the two group dates - followed by a 'prom' and then a RC eliminating 2 women; the Back-to-School segment followed by RC with 2 more eliminated; hometown visits with 4 bachelorettes followed by RC, final 2 bachelorettes have fantasy dates followed by a RC. There was a 20 minute intermission when the bachelor and remaining bachelorettes were given a chance to meet up backstage and presumably get to know each other a little bit. The bachelor shared he knew several acquaintances of one of the contestants from that time together! The RC all had the mansion as a backdrop.
The producer of the show worked on it for 2 years before it was launched and there were lots of details, set changes, costume and music changes. Sydney from both the Bachelor and BIP was one of the 4 dancers - she has beautiful lines and was so friendly. The dancers guided the contestants to their 'marks' on stage and escorted them when eliminated.
The final 2 women appeared to be opposites - the chosen one was very outgoing and a fan favorite but due to her personality, she was the easiest to get to know. The other woman who finished second was more bland. During the school session, Ben asked an audience member if she was naughty or nice and she responded that she'd like him to spank her with his ruler! Turns out this woman was the mother of the F2 contestant and I can see that her mom consumed all the oxygen at home! (But I also think she was a plant).
The production really milked the tie-ins with SM. In the theatre lobby, there were photo opps that if you posted to SM, you could get a Kendra Scott jewelry discount code. There were 5 yellow roses underneath seats that also were attached to Kendra Scott gifts. You could buy so much swag - all with Bachelor-related themes.

Sounds interesting. The shows in the surrounding area for me are all at least 2 hours from me in the larger cities that I hate to drive in during the day... let alone at night so I won't be going.
I will be interested in hearing how the events with the former contestants as the Bachelor go. I think Connor S from Hannah's season is one of them (yep, Los Angeles). Diggy is the bachelor in Chicago.

@Norcalgal Thanks for all this! Sounds like a great time! Couple of questions, how long did this take?
Who was the bachelor and his F1? Will the public know the results after each show?

Two hour show with 20 minute intermission. The bachelor was an unknown from a local city and I haven't seen any press on the 'couple' afterwards. I did read an article about the first Bachelor LIVE on Stage event that was held in Mesa, AZ that the guy was a dud. I think it might be hard to have a Bachelorette do the choosing as I don't know if that many men would buy tickets. BTW, mine were a gift but weren't cheap - started at $69 up to $175.
Edited to add that one question Ben answered was who are his closest friends in Bachelor Nation. Dean was mentioned which surprised me as they seem so opposite! He also mentioned that he keeps in touch with JoJo - which was nice to hear and he said he is very happy for her. Becca mentioned her favorite date wasn't with Garrett but the date where she wrecked everything to do with her 'ex' - (Arie), mentioned it was so cathartic and recommended everyone do that to the ex that wronged them.

@Norcalgal thanks. I wonder why they wouldn't do any press after the show. Maybe they have but I haven't seen any.
Expensive tickets, that's for sure. Sounds like a fun time though.

This show would be much more fun with a lead we've gotten to know. If you're in LA, go see the show. You'll have a ton of fun!

I like Eric! I have no idea what he's been up to since Rachel's season but I hope he has a good time, and bonus if he meets someone.
