Also, there are certain breeds who are prone to certain problems...hip dysplasia...being a big one and recent studies show that by spaying/neutering later (after 1 yr) is very beneficial.

I feel for Hannah. I have been stuck at home for a week and a half now. I would go bonkers if I didn't have the dog and cat. I can feel myself relax when I am petting or brushing them...not to mention a bit of a cuddle.

My dog isn't allowed on the bed so I have started sleeping on the couch a couple nights a week so that I can cuddle with her. I pretty much stay in one position on the couch (unlike when I'm in bed) and she has her spot. It is so comforting in this time of uncertainty.

I am so envious (in a good way) of all of you with your pets for comfort. We lost our precious Beastie almost a year ago to the day and I would love to have him back to cuddle while we are in self quarantine. There's something about "live warm fur" that always lowered my blood pressure, made me smile and lent hope to difficult situations. So...cuddle your little ones for me and I will live vicariously through you.

ETA: Beastie (given name was Ray) was a 17 pound, long-hired orange cat who couldn't bear to be alone or not physically attached to either my husband or myself. He was a stray who wandered into our house one day and never left.

Aww, that's so sweet, and so sorry for your loss. A 17 pound cat.... that's a big kitty cat. Pets are wonderful....I have 3 miniature schnauzers and they are my babies for sure, attached to my hip and spoiled rotten. As all pets should be.
