When Angie Kent picked Carlin Sterritt as her Bachelorette winner, it seemed that she'd finally found the Prince Charming she'd spent years searching for.

But in the months since filming wrapped, the couple's fairytale romance has started unravelling.

Indeed, NW's exclusive insider says the pair are already on the rocks, with the burden of having to keep their relationship a secret proving too much.

"They're all smiles now doing press, but the truth is that they've really been struggling to make things work," spills our spy.

"Angie is absolutely heartbroken that it's not panning out.

"She and Carlin just had too many obstacles in way. They also didn't see eye to eye on a lot of the important stuff. They were butting heads over every little thing!"

When Carlin, 30, opened up to NW about his relationship with Angie, 29, he admitted they did have an "incredibly strong connection", but they also had some "very big hurdles" in the way.

"If I did propose, or for our relationship to work on the outside, we have to iron out a few issues first," he revealed..

Angie has been left heartbroken after discovering Carlin's still hung up on his wife.

When Angie Kent picked Carlin Sterritt in the romantic finale of The Bachelorette last week, fans couldn't have been happier that the Gogglebox star had put all her doubts to one side and found The One.

But despite their cathartic ending, an insider tells Woman's Day that Angie, 29, has been left feeling torn since the show's end, wondering if she has made the right decision by choosing the dubious suitor.

While the new couple enjoyed a peaceful few days alone together in Byron Bay after filming, once they returned to their normal lives things went from bad to worse.

"Angie quickly realised that Carlin was still caught up with his [estranged] wife," a source dishes.

"It was a real shock to her because he had told Angie they were completely over, but that wasn't exactly the case."

Despite splitting more than a year ago, our source says Carlin, 30, has far from moved on from his ex Taran Higgins. In fact, he was in "constant contact" with her, which didn't sit well with Angie.

"She hates the fact that they're still friends and talk most days – she can't understand it," the source reveals.

"It has brought up all of the doubts that had surfaced during filming and it's starting to take a toll on her."

Angie's doubts come just weeks after Taran made a heartfelt tribute to her ex on Instagram. "Shout out to [Carlin] for being his true and authentic self. #1fan," she captioned a photo of them on their wedding day, before referring to the handsome model as a "bombshell".

According to the source, Angie wanted to start things off with Carlin on a "clean slate", so she gave him an ultimatum to finalise his divorce with Taran quick smart. However, it wasn't as simple as signing on the dotted line like Carlin had made out it would be.

"Carlin and Taran were having dramas sorting out their paperwork situation," the insider explains. "Angie started to worry that he didn't want to finalise it or that Taran was still in love with him and Carlin was just being nice."

Angie's concerns that there might be unfinished business between her new beau and his ex are said to have driven a wedge between the couple.

"Angie's sick of coming second to him and is starting to doubt his intentions and question if he's really over Taran like he says he is," the source dishes.

"She's starting to think that maybe all the red flags have been exactly that and she feels like an idiot for not paying attention to the signs sooner."

While Carlin is having a bad case of the ex, it turns out he's not the only one! One contestant tells Woman's Day that Angie found out via social media that her ex-boyfriend got engaged during filming.

"She mentioned it to the boys one night and tried to laugh it off, but we could tell she was upset about it," he dishes. "She started doubting her connection with the boys from that moment forward."

According to the contestant, there was also talk Angie had even reached out to her ex after finding out the news. "The boys started to wonder if she might still be in love with him," he explains.

"With everything going on, you couldn't blame her for wondering if she'd made the right decision signing up for the show."

Her ex's engagement has sent Ange in a spin.

During the show, Angie doubted Carlin Sterritt’s intentions after his own brother admitted he was only there to “boost his acting career”. However, now it seems that the tables have turned on the Bachelorette.

In exclusive screenshots obtained by New Idea from a group chat among former contestants of the show, a number of the boys appear to question Angie’s motives, claiming she only went on the show to boost her own celebrity profile.

“I have mutual friends with her and asked my mates and they said she’s nothing like what you see,” one wrote.

“I’m sure he [Carlin] is [on there for love]. But she isn’t.”

“She only wants fame ...,” another added.

Since filming, a number of the contestants have also questioned Angie’s intentions for signing up to be the Bachelorette.

“She was jobless before the show, she wasn’t allowed back on Gogglebox, she was doing nothing after I’m A Celeb,” they said. “Now coincidentally, she’s releasing a book. This whole thing is a publicity stunt for her to get more famous.

“She is just climbing that ladder of fame.”

However, Angie has insisted from the very beginning she only had one motivation – to find true love.

“It was a tough decision,” Angie told TV Week, about the finale. “But in the end, I made the right one, and then I saw how easy it was.”

Angie & Ciarran’s secret messages

"Producers were calling Ciarran as late as the finale to come back."

Following his shock departure, a source claims Ciarran Stott and Angie still kept in touch.

“After his final episode aired, Angie sent Ciarran a message on Instagram,” the source says.

“She wrote something like: ‘Hey you please call me, we need to chat. I don’t want to speak over text’.”

Ciarran was apparently ‘flattered’ by Angie’s message but decided not to call.

“He discussed it with the boys because he wasn’t sure what to do,” the insider added. “He wanted to speak to her, but he’s loyal and didn’t want to disrespect anyone.”

Another source adds Angie was so devastated when Ciarran left she “begged” for his return. “Producers were calling Ciarran as late as the finale to come back,” another source reveals. “If he did return, he would have won.”

Is it a common thing to see and read all these rumors after a show ended?  What are these newpapers? Are these the trash ones?
I’m just thinking that there is no readership for a boring good love story and they need to stir things up a bit, but to what extent? I see some of those are repetition of past posts and speculations that we heard already.
O/T In the meantime, I’m looking for Tim’s birthday information if anyone can help me out. I do not have Facebook and there are way too many guys with his name online. Someone who follows him probably can figure that out.

Re: the bolded, in fact the smoke has been travelling so far from where the fires are that we've been told many times to not report smoke because there isn't actually a fire (within meaningful distance).  Haha.  Kinda kills the saying completely.

Matt and Chelsie didn't have these stories but it didn't exactly go well for them.  There was just nothing to say for them either way because I think there was just literally nothing there.  

I think Angie already has a presence so there's inevitably going to be more stories.  And there's going to be a strong market for stories that are negative about their relationship because the public support was for Timm, not Carlin.

(I don't think they'll work, but that's because I don't actually think Angie truly wants a relationship with anyone).
