when I told my boyfriend (who watched the whole season with me and always though Matt should have picked Abbie based on level of chemistry/attraction) it was confirmed they broke up, the first thing he speculated was that Matt might have found that he really didn't like a girlfriend who was his intellectual equal (and maybe intellectual superior) after all. He probably likes a woman who is just smart enough to appreciate HIS intelligence, and find it attractive, but he actually does still want to be the smartest in the room. I totally see it too IMO.

Adding it all up... the history of dating "Abbies", the somewhat onesided relationship and breakup, & Chelsie's obvious hurt, I'm really feeling right now that my long-held suspicions that Matt is just a regular old player with a nerd facade might be true. JMO, IMO, etc etc. I guess we will see how it plays out. Lets see who is his next girlfriend; the proof will be in that pudding IMO.

Definitely agree to an extent but I think when you're in that Bach position and have a hundred girls DMing you a month and are trying not to get tempted, the physical stuff matters A LOT. Matt was exactly the type of guy throughout the show who seemed to get caught up in the sudden female attention.

This is where I differ, I don’t know enough about Matt & have no proof to know that he is like that in RL. And I maintain that the physical cannot sustain. I know folks in RL that have great intimacy and still filed for divorce. For all we know Matty could have come out of the bubble and felt that he could not reciprocate the feelings he had in the bubble. For me I hope he gave Chelsie closure because I am not happy about what Rachel has insinuated that Matt provided no reason as to why presumptively he broke things off based on the IG comments posted upthread. The bubble is legit real based on what past leads have said in interviews and it’s just them choosing to work hard on the relationship that led to success for those that ended in marriage...all jmo.

it really pisses me off that these people are going on the show and say they want marriage and children (eliminate anyone who has different opinion in the meantime) and then after the show it is visible they are about that fame/single life and they really dont want to work on the relationship.. are these people daft? relationships are not that easy - you have to put work into them to make them long lasting

it was the same with angie i think when on the show she was all about that marriage and children, then after the show she is like i dont want to get married ever

Abbie followed Matt recently (probably as soon as she heard Chels and Matt had split). That's what a lot are commenting about. There was no need for her to follow Matt and to be commenting on his IG post today (of his breakup with Chels). Abbie just wants to make it all about HER imo. If she was a real friend to Chels, she'd have never followed Matt on IG and she'd not be commenting on his IG post either, no matter what. jmo

Obviously we don’t know what happened but I feel bad for Chels. I think her feelings were very genuine & intentionally or not, Matt was playing a role. It’s clear now that Matt had no interest in a relationship and unfortunately Chelsie was collateral damage. Jmo.

Going by both of their statements, the likes of Rachael, Chelsie and some of chelsie’s friends of comments being made on both of their Ig statements , it seems it was 100% matts decision IMO. Unfortunately, that can happen sometime we’re matt might’ve thought the love isn’t 100% fireworks and it’s better to end it now and Chelsie felt different. I really don’t think Abbie had anything to do with it, I never saw them working.

Ugh I'm at BEC level with Abbie but that was a really unnecessary post? It's not about you Abbie, you could have just said nothing. Just talk about it to Chelsie to reassure her in private if she's a good friend as you say.

eta: a few of you had the same thoughts as me about Abbie making that post to get attention haha.

They wouldn't have worked long term, but they'd still be together getting it on IMO. I think they had the chemistry and physical attraction to get them through a few months of banging (not to put it too finely hahaha).

What really annoyed me is that Abbie was put on trial for not specifying the exact date and time she would like to get married and procreate with the person she had known for 3 weeks when that isn't really what most of the leads want at all (and don't have to honestly given they barely know the contestants). It was obvious Matt didn't but he will get a pass of course.
