Um wot. Don't believe this for a second (he's only 23 for a start!) but this dude reckons he's "in talks" to be Bach 2021.

IMO TPTB would be too busy trying to sort out this season's mess and planning for Bette, but noting for the record...

I never believe any of the 'in talks' reports. They always just announce who it is with no preamble or leaks etc. I'm sure Harry would love the attention (I mean lbr he probably started the story off himself)

@leavers Yeah I know I debated over whether or not to even mention it (don't like to reward attention seekers ) but my obsessive need to chronicle everything won out.

So many bach girls follow him!  He must be the new 'ít' guy - I didn't watch the show, so know nothing of him, but his age makes the suggestion of being the Bachelor laughable.

Just noticed the TAB page for Bach has disappeared.  Might just be a glitch but could indicate changes are afoot.  

The Bachelor Australia resumes filming in Sydney - after Channel 10 shut down production over coronavirus fears

The Bachelor Australia has resumed filming, at Oxford Hills in Sydney, a new report revealed on Saturday.

According to The Daily Telegraph, suitor Locklan 'Locky' Gilbert and all the woman were put into isolation prior to entering the mansion.

'Warner bros has also assigned a dedicated production COVID manager to ensure all protocols are up to date and adhered to,' a spokesperson told the publication.

Endemol Shine was forced to suspend on-site production of The Bachelor in March, due to the escalating COVID-19 pandemic.

While filming was suspended, Locky is believed to have had 'virtual dates' via Zoom with the women.

Channel 10 hasn't announced an airdate for The Bachelor but it certainly won't premiere before the conclusion of Bachelor in Paradise, which is likely to air after the MasterChef finale.

What a disaster. How many weeks in were they before they shut down?

@GuardianAngel they were about a third of the way into the season when things shut down.  

I think they probably fast tracked through the "zoom phase" ( ) and only brought back the Top 8 or something - they're not going to want to drag this out much longer and TBH I'm fairly confident Locky would have lost interest in the lot of them by now.

I'd bet the same thing @'Bobette' - there's no way they'll resume with the full group of women they had at shutdown, they'll be filming forever. They'll make him pick his favourite eight or so (perfect number imo, because six would only be one or two eps until hometowns) and film about ~4 eps then launch straight into the final 4. They can just fully film fake zoom crap to filter out the rest, because you can easily pretend you're filming 2 way communication when you're not.

The Bachelor will premiere next month! Most probably after BIP.
The Bachelor's eighth season will premiere on Channel 10 next month, the network's head of entertainment, Stephen Tate, announced on Monday.

While an exact air date hasn't been confirmed, it's expected the show will launch at the end of August, after Bachelor in Paradise season three has finished its run.

"We were three-quarters of the way through series when we went into lockdown, and basically all the cast returned home,' Mr Tate told The Australian. ( Liar)

'So we would find ways for the show to continue in the same way that dating continues in the wider world… We call it "Love in Lockdown. They continued to virtually date, both as single dates and as group dates.'

Because of the disruption to Channel 10's schedule caused by COVID-19, it's possible The Bachelor will still be in production when the show premieres.

Interestingly, Mr Tate revealed in his interview with The Australian that each episode of The Bachelor requires about four to five weeks of editing.

Well that does not bode well IMO.  Seems like they're trying to get it over and done with ASAP.  

Also yes that's a TOTAL LIE that they were 3/4 of the way though!  They were only about 3 weeks into filming (and we have the posts to prove it).  What he means is "we didn't want to waste time bringing the MoTs back so told them to stay home" IMO.

At least if they're editing on the fly there will be less time for frankenbyting and storyline creation, so we might get a less manufactured season.  I presume he's settled on an F1 after all this time though so night 1 editing will still tell the story IMO.

Precisely, @Bobette. They weren't 3/4 done at all, this is just how they're going to weasel their way out of bringing back all the women and cutting down the season dramatically. They'll probably only have like, one or maybe two zoom date episodes - nobody can stomach more than that, have we all not suffered enough zoom as it is? And yep, less time for editing is a GOOD thing.
