Yep thanks for responding. That was a crazy season, and hence why I don’t subscribe to any conspiracy theories regarding who these leads pick; IMO leads will pick whoever they want. Note also that Jillian picked Ed knowing all the red flags which she even acknowledged but I guess the heart wants what the heart wants as they say

Ryan, no surprise the boys ratted on him. I think Angie is right that guys felt intimidated since they know they knew of each other before; still keen to see if he makes it to HTD because I ain’t seeing it from Angie to him.

I am gonna wait for the Ciarran exit episode to air but still convinced he was not that into Angie especially in light of the fact now that he is allegedly back with his ex per Daily Fail; and if Angie really wanted him, he would have rolled back into that mansion after he spent some time with his family over supposedly exiting due to his grandma’s passing. We do have an F1 that won the show in the US franchise, who left the show for a while come back and win it.

Timm, no surprise about the dad’s take on him; I have read similar perception on SM from some folks that have met Timm in RL so I can imagine how he came across to the dad who just met him for maybe a few hours IMO, yikes.

Very well put @Mercieme. IMO, Timm would be fun as a friend but he’s probably a bit too much for many people. As for Ciarran, I believe he would’ve got an earlier date had Angie been wanting him as her F1.

So I might be in the minority here but I did not like the way Angie spoke to Jamie in last night’s episode. I’m not a fan of the guy but I feel like she went a bit far with him? She obviously is assertive, which is great but that whole scene made me feel very uncomfortable. JMO.

IMO, being respectful of one another after the end of a relationship is an admirable trait and speaks volumes to me of maturity and decency in a person.

@mercieme  I agree  I'm not sure if you've seen the episode yet, but at one point Angie says to mum and dad (paraphrase) 'I want to share my life with one of these guys. I already know I will'.  Imo she knew at that stage who her f1 was, and wanted to know if there were any negatives.  There wasn't!

No, I agree too. Angie was very blunt and it wasn't pleasant to watch. I also didn't like the way Ciarran told Jamie about Angie steering clear of him. I'm sure Ciarran thought he was being honest and transparent, but imo it was a bit mean.

@sprout as to Angie's talk with Jamie, IMO it was like listening to a school yard gossip fest. If it was done for drama I personally thought it was childish.
I agree, to walk away from a broken marriage and being respectful of one another shows a depth of character IMO.
Lastly you are right in that Angie said she knows she will share her life with one of the men. I take Angie at her word and believe she wanted to find love on the show.

Yeah I didn’t like the way Ciarran did that either.

Ok so while we're all giving our opinions, I find Ryan so unwatchable. Boring, straight, serious, awkward. Something about him gives me the creeps. I don't usually have such a strong reaction to contestants. Anyway JMO.

Episode 6

We join the boys having a fireside chat. Jamie is fondly reminiscing about getting the first rose at the last RC thanks to the powers of his magical rainbow socks.  He says he’s on cloud nine, he’s feels like he’s stepped up his game and he’s “maybe at the level of Timm now.”  Everyone laughs.  This tells me two things:

A. Timm was seen at this stage as the benchmark for Angie’s affections; and

B. Jamie is either playing up to the clinger role or a self-deluded nutcase, IMO.

Timm’s face effectively conveys how he feels about the comparison:



Osher arrives with the SD card.  Ciarran gets it and Jamie spontaneously combusts into a ball of man tears. Angie says she chose Ciarran for the date because he’s “just so funny” and she liked what she saw at the life drawing class.  She says she’s very attracted to him and wants to see if there’s more than that.

They board the speed boat and Ciarran’s brickin’ it.   The ride looks horrid.  Salt water splashes in their faces and Angie says “these are not the facials Ciarran’s used to getting”. They’re absolutely drenched and Angie realises she didn’t bring a change of clothing.  Ciarran says he brought whole suitcase.  



Back at the mansion, the boys are discussing Ciarran’s chances with Angie.  Jamie says, totally deadpan, “He’s earned it – he stood up naked in front of a lot of people. He looked great naked.  I’m not going to lie.”    I almost feel like Jamie’s doing a parody of himself and trolling the lot of us.

Next up it’s the evening portion of C & A’s date and Angie says Ciarran is eccentric, cheeky and fun, and that’s what she loves.  He finds his whole persona “addictive and intriguing” and that’s what she’s usually attracted to. TL/DR: He’s totally her jam.  She’s beaming with joy, and her hair looks like this:



Nek minute she’s suddenly all somber and saying “but I can’t be with a jokester forever”, and her hair looks like this:



It’s totally disjointed, and goes against everything she said last episode about wanting to be with someone who doesn’t take life seriously and with whom she can just have a laugh.  It is IMO clearly a reshoot designed to alter the original narrative.

Back on the date, realtime Angie is looking like someone who’d be perfectly happy to be with a jokester forever.  They’re laughing and then Ciarran starts talking about his childhood and his beloved Nan (*foreshadow alert*) and then they kiss.





Afterwards Angie gives us the “I really like him” quote/SC from the trailer.  She says she wasn’t expecting it, that he snuck in there and she “can really see a future with him”.  Ciarran may have leapfrogged over Timm at this point IMO.



Morning breaks and Angie arrives at the mansion with her parents.  Jamie says he recognizes them from Instagram.   He’s clearly forgotten page 1 of The Stalker’s Handbook: never admit anything.

She splits the guys into two groups.  Dad gets Matt, Jackson, Ciarran, Carlin and Timm.  The rest are with Angie and Mum (very important to have Ryan and Jamie aside from the other boys to give them a chance to bitch about them, of course).

Dad’s gang go out to the garden to drink sponsored beer.  Jackson looks and sounds like a young version of Dad and if he were F1 I’d be suggesting Angie do an ancestry DNA search toot sweet just in case.  



Dad has some questions for the boys and they have to answer honestly.  They’re basically an excuse for TPTB to remind us of the guys’ individual themes, IMO.

Timm’s question is “do you see yourself having a future with Angie” which IMO is code for “are you too immature/erratic for a relationship?” He says yes, he 100% sees himself with her.

Ciarran is asked whether he’s been naked in public which IMO is code for “are you too wild for Angie?”  He nonchalantly admits to stripping for the GD, and my gut says Angie’s probably been with wilder anyway.

Carlin’s question, “who should Angie steer clear of and why?” is IMO code for “do you have the balls to throw someone under the bus?”.  He doesn’t, and instead let’s the group answer for him – Jamie.

Cut to Jamie chatting with Mum or, more specifically, monologuing about Angie while Mum nervously looks around for the nearest exit and/or security personnel.  





Next up Mum’s off with Ryan.  She gazes adoringly at him and says she thinks he and Angie would have a lot in common, and he could be “the one”.



The Kents regroup and Angie asks Dad what he thinks.  He says:

“If you’re looking at the Angie settle down and want to have kids type, I’d go for Carlin.  He seems like the right sort of guy.  

“If you’re going to still be travelling and want to have fun and not have kids till you’re 40 then old mate Ciarran is probably the one”

Some interesting words there IMO – using the phrase “the one” in relation to both Ryan and Ciarran, while Carlin is just “the right sort of guy”.  

Mum and Dad both agree that Timm’s too much and not ready to settle down.  Just like Matt’s friends had seen a lot of Abbies, I get the impression Angie’s parents have probably seen a lot of Timms.  

Dad tells Angie the boys don’t trust Ryan and she defends him, saying he’s the nicest guy you’ll ever meet and it just shows they’re threatened.  Both parents agree Jamie is intense and Angie pretends to be surprised, as if she hadn’t already noticed.

Cocktail party and the hair and makeup department has upped their game another notch.  It’s probably just as well Ciarran doesn’t stay till the FRC or he’d need to be riding in on a unicorn with a rainbow mane wearing a gold sequin catsuit.



Angie arrives and takes Jamie off for a chat about the whole stalker thing.  It’s all a bit weird and uncomfortable to watch.  He’s rambling and Angie’s face says it all.  I hope he goes by the end of next week – the whole thing’s become tired IMO.



Ciarran comes up to ask Angie for a chat and they cut to an ad.  When it comes back they’re at the RC and we never see this scene of him crying with Angie in the garden from the trailer.  I wonder why they chose to cut it out?



At the RC he is still visibly upset and seems to be crying IMO.  It looks like he’s barely holding it together.  I hope they didn’t actually tell him his Nan had died half way through the cocktail party – that would be a new low.  





When Angie gets to the RC her eyes immediately dart over to where Ciarran is standing.  He is out of focus and/or blatantly cropped out of frame for much of the ceremony.  I wonder how it’s all going to play out next ep.
