Bachelorette Australia - Angie Kent - Season 5 - Episodes - *Sleuthing Spoilers*

Episode 5, Part A

Names are read out for the comedy group date and it's everyone except Carlin, Hadyn, Matt and Jamie.  It's no coincidence Mr 2% was left off this date IMO.  Ciarran is absolutely buzzin' (of course!).  They arrive at the comedy club and I feel my second hand embarrassment/anxiety rising already.   



Club host Harley reminds us that Angie wants a funny guy.  Osher then emphasises that Angie "is looking to fall in love with a man that can make her laugh".  She says, "I just think it's so important to not take yourself too seriously.  The best thing in the world is to laugh, so that's what I'm after".

So the boys have to write and perform a stand up routine.  Poor old Scot is  Wetting.  His.  Pants.  Producers ask Harley what he thinks of Timm and he says he's split - he'll either be exceptional or absolute chaos.  This is all said over footage of Timm rambling about chickens and doing things like this:



Timm says he's done some weird and wacky things in his time but this takes the cake.  Having done a bit of a deep dive into Timm's SM past I'm going to have to disagree there, but we won't get into that (although Timm if you're reading this, I know about BB 2014 and the monkey ).  

The routines are SO HARD TO WATCH but I give the boys full props.  All skits are on Tenplay HERE if anyone dares go there. Ciarran is an absolute natural and his accent makes anything funny.  He could read a shopping list and it would be hilarious.  Angie says she is impressed and makes this face:



So Ciarran gets the QT.  Angie says he makes her laugh and she wants to be around that energy.  I note these are all said with her shorter frizzy hair so genuine thoughts at the time and not a re-shoot IMO.  Ciarran asks Angie what she's looking for and she says: "Funny, honesty, passionate about what they do and understanding that she has friends/family from all walks of life."



She mentions her gay brother and Ciarran says they'd get on like a house on fire.  Angie says most of her friends are gay or trans.  Ciarran says he was brought up in an inclusive environment and that's why he's so flamboyant.  He talks about family responsibilities and shows a more sensitive/serious side.  I definitely think Ciarran was cast as one of Angie's potential F1s.



They kiss and she's grabbing the back of his neck and leaning in with open mouth and ITM she says they have a lot of sexual chemistry.  She likes him a lot, IMO and I think the kissing went on for way longer than shown.  She said she loves being around him, they have something special and she's very drawn to him.  She's going to be absolutely gutted when he leaves, IMO.

If a contestant is not feeling it with the lead, what’s wrong with leaving the show and or going back to an ex or dating someone else?

The contestant in question was allegedly Angie's chosen F1. If Angie felt this strongly about him was it all a ruse to make the viewer think she had genuine feelings?
Going back to an ex is perfectly fine, its just the timing of re-starting a relationship that is questionable as he is still on the show.

I don’t think Ciarran was ever going to be F1. JMO.

No big deal if the contestant leaves IMO, won’t be the first and won’t be the last, has happened in other franchises and some have even ended up marrying the ex they dumped to attend the show In this case though according to the DM article, production knew that the ex had also been on Matt’s season....just think of how producers screwed up Hannah’s season because IMO they 100% knew of Jed’s ex all along

@storybook, no way he was that into Angie & vice versa IMO, but sure others can believe he was a front runner, I just ain’t buying it

Episode 5, Part B

It's the following morning and we're at the mansion.  The boys are grilling Ciarran about what happened with Angie and he straight up lies and says he didn't kiss her.  "Ciarran doesn't kiss and tell", he grins.  Matty is looking extra pretty today.  I think he's been borrowing Timm's guyliner.  



Jamie says getting a single date is all he thinks about - all day, every day.  Angie arrives in a FIRE ENGINE and says she's taking someone on a date.  After pausing for dramatic effect, she invites Ryan.  Bearing in mind Jamie is a fireman (as is Haydn) this is next level trolling by the producers IMO.



Angie says she and Ryan were chatting on SM for well over a year and there's a bit of pressure after all the build up.  A crossover promotion with FRNSW is an odd choice and the date makes little sense IMO.  Hair/background inconsistencies show they did many reshoots of her Ryan comments.  Interesting.  







Night falls and they're both looking forward to getting to know each other better.  Ryan says he only signed up for the show for Angie and I believe him.  He's genuinely into her IMO and TPTB did well casting him.  They bond over having sweaty hands.    Ryan mentions his heart surgeries and Angie wants to see the scars.  



They kiss and it looks super awkward but afterwards she talks about him doing "little kissing tricks that you wouldn't expect him to do since he's so polite" and once again I wonder what was cut out.  He says she makes him nervous.  Yes mate, it shows.   Ryan's very open and genuine, but too dry for Angie, IMO.



CP.  Angie arrives looking like an absolute smokeshow and Ciarran reacts appropriately.

Angie likes his outfit.

Angie: "oh, pink!"
Ciarran: "I know, to make you wink"

I love how they spark off each other.

Jamie says he has an "amazing gift" for Angie.  It's a pair of socks.  Ciarran says, "I buy lingerie, not socks!"    But they're not just socks!  They're magic rainbow socks which, "if you've had a bad day, you can wear them to bed and when you wake up you will have nothing but love and positivity in your heart".  



Jamie's a nutter but Angie is very gracious and seems genuinely taken with the magic socks.  



Ryan takes Angie off for a chat-and-pash in the orchard and the boys are NOT happy.  He commits the sin of saying he's not there to make friends.  Uh oh.  So Ryan's in the dog house but Jamie's confident - "I gave Angie rainbow socks; clearly I made the best impression".  He's playing up the clinger role but it's pretty amusing.

LOTS of zooming on Timm and Carlin this RC.  Carlin says "I have no idea what Angie's thinking in regards to me and the connection we previously made".  It's the most he's spoken all episode.  He says "it feels like the connection is fading".  He sounds like a classic First Date Guy IMO. So three boys go as predicted and we have our Top Ten.

@Bobette Thanks for all these great S/C . I noticed that the 3rd S/C where she is wearing the yellow top is vastly different than the 2 others..and her hair is also very different... not sure what she is commenting about but probably some pick/ up..? Now which came first, the 2 same or the 3rd. one...I can’t isolate and copy here but I know you can so TYIA for giving us your guess.

I also noticed her hair was different

@Astrobach @Enough IKR?  That whole series of ITMs was seriously messed up.  I counted three, maybe even four separate shoots.  So some MAJOR redesign going on around Carlin, Timm and Ryan's storylines this season IMO.  

Regarding which is which - Angie's hair got longer around her face and in better condition as the show went on, so I think the stuff she said about Ryan with this hair and background were shot earlier and everything else later IMO:

Yes, I look forward to listen to these ITMs ... so many differences:
* The flowers in the back are very different, one bouquet is bigger with more flowers (3rd)
* her makeup, especially eyes shadow and cheek blush are different...unsure about lipstick
* she may be wearing a different bra ( the top fits differently in her)?
* her hair is slightly shorter on the 3 rd S/C...
And that’s it for now...

I have studied the photos and personally I don't see a conspiracy theory happening. There could've been several takes to get what Angie said right. The candles could've burnt down and Angie's curls dropped and she needed a touch up of her hair and make-up. We know the Rose ceremonies go on for hours with all the re-shoots, so IMO Angie's ITM's are no different.
