I feel like Abbie would have acted the same and wanted to win regardless of who was the bachelor. I think Matt could have been anyone else and she'd still act the same and pursue "the prize". I think it's just her nature (granted she's not the first or only one to do this, it's just super obvious to me she is in the bubble and playing the game. jmo)

Yes it’s been great! Really can’t believe the finale is on next week - where did that time go?

Haven't seen the ep yet, and probably won't get the chance to catch up till I get back from holidays, but because I'm away, I've just reread Courtney Robertsons book about her time on the Bachelor, and she really reminds me of Abbie. She's confident, self assured and very sexual. She had run ins with some of the girls, but she also had some friends, but this wasn't shown, and most of all, she had no idea she'd be edited as the villain.
Abbie is a scrapper and go getter because of her background, and like Jessica Rabbit "I'm not bad, I'm just drawn that way", the editors drew her how they wanted her, and her youthful overconfidence did the rest. She will recover from this, I'm sure she's been promised BIP, and will be Queen of the Island.

Being in the US, I'm dependent on the Bachelor Archive to view the episodes. I've been watching each episode the minute it's been posted. Concerned that something will happen and these last and best episodes won't be posted! Please give lots of commentary when posting episode updates!

@Dirty Street Pie Agree with your analysis of Abbie. We should all be glad she was a contestant otherwise it would have been a far less enjoyable show!

Episode 13, Part A

A group date is announced and Helena's demeanour could best be described as... unenthusiastic.  I had to zoom in to make sure she hadn't painted fake eyes on her eyelids and fallen asleep.

The girls arrive at the group date location.  Fortunately it seems they all got the memo that this occasion is strictly a 30cm maximum skirt length dress code and it's legs for days.

Helena walks in at the front of the group but must have been told to move to the back.  Tall Girl Curse.  She's shifting uncomfortably, taking deep breaths and looking at the ground.

Osher introduces the sexologist and Abbie's reaction is priceless.    She says in a cutaway that she wants to be one.  Not sure she's serious but if so her schedule would be solidly booked, IMO.



The sexologist announces the first task will be hugging, which releases oxytocin.  Since this is Chelsea's codeword she manages to say a few words on camera.  It's been so long I forgot what she sounds like.

First up Helena.  True to form, she's totally overthinking it.  "It's weird that the girls are sitting there watching"  "It was quite sweet ... but it could have all been in my bloody mind"  Rating: Classic Helena.

Matt says he's got no idea who that was?!    Um yeah BULL SH*T MATE.  Helena is thin as a whippet, Chelsea has hair down to her bum, Emma probably licked your ears, Elly is 4ft tall and I think you're familiar with Abbie by now...

Up strolls Abbie and break out the sexy music!  "This looks different already" notes Osher.    None of the other girls had sound effects and yet with Abbie we hear moans and grunts and get an unsavoury close up of his sweaty back.

Chelsea nails the stareoff challenge...



...while Helena pushes her chair so far back she almost tips off the gazebo.  



Up strolls Abbie and break out the double bass and sax riff again because it's business time.  "She's a bit flirty" says the sexologist.  Just as well we have an "expert" to point that out for us else we might have missed it.

Elly says Abbie's just bad.  She says she is the one who is "going to make him happy and want the same things as him".  You sure about that Elly?  Cause that's not what you're saying in interviews this morning now is it?  

Elly says she's aware that they only have limited time together and then proceeds to waste the rest of their time together bitching about Abbie.  The stuff specifically about SM is frankenbyted in later IMO but still, a poor use of time.

Matt's no dummy though and says it's just Elly's opinion of Abbie, which doesn't help him.  WORD.  The one good thing to come out of their conversation is this sweet SC of the lucky cushion that may have scored a flight to SA.

Next up we have Abbie's second SD.  Matt once again collects her in a vehicle.  Once again they flirt and she's all handsy en route.  This portion feels very similar to her first date, just like Chelsea's felt to me like carbon copies.

Arriving at the house, Matt is treated to The Girlfriend Experience with Abbie.  It's all flirts and giggles as they play out what guys in their early 20s think moving in with their girlfriends will be like (...before they actually do it.  )

Back at the mansion, Elly is clutching her pearls and saying Abbie is "obsessed with sexual chemistry".  Pardon us, your holiness.  Matt says he and Abbie have a sexual spark and he wants to "continue exploring that".  I bet you do.  

He goes on to say their relationship "is a lot deeper than that and there's a really strong connection there".  The tight shot proves beyond doubt that his glasses are real and I wonder how on earth he manages when he's not wearing them.

He asks Abbie about what Elly said.  I don't think he wanted to ask her and IMO it was TPTB's idea.  He quickly backpedals and says he doesn't want her to think she's on trial - code for "they made me ask that please don't hate me!" IMO.

Love the recap!! I cannot wait until we find out if the cushions got a hols to SA also.

You could tell in this episode that Helena already wanted to run far far away .. reminds me of Olena from Richies season.. the guy being a lot more keen than the girl. All I gotta say is .. ladies, always follow your gut.

Episode 13, Part B

Cocktail Party.  Helena says "there's a huge amount of pressure and I think all of the girls are kind of starting to feel it" which translates in my head to OH MY GOD WHY DID I AGREE TO THIS PLEASE SOMEONE GET ME OUT OF HERE.

Elly says she's "quietly confident" she'll be getting a rose and she's ready for any backlash coming from Abbie.   Abbie and Matt return from their date and Elly makes this face and even if it's edited out of context it's still GOLD.

Abbie tells Chelsea she's pretty sure she's going home tonight and Chelsea says WTF? and I immediately recognise this as the sound byte they used of her early in the season.  Reduce reuse recycle eh editors?

Elly takes Abbie aside and makes like she's The Queen of All that is Good and Righteous.  "I am taking this so seriously..."   Helena is absent and I wonder if she's off somewhere begging the producers to send her home.

It doesn't work.  Just look at the joy on her face when her name is called!

Abbie is called second and oh boy is Elly thrilled.

Chelsea is called third and he does that thing again where he rubs her waist.

Emma called last and looks like she can't quite believe it.  She graciously hugs Elly before accepting her rose.  I still like Emma.  She's been consistent throughout the season IMO and I'd be interested to see her in Paradise.

Elly is "so confused" why she's going home.  I can only assume the producers were in her ear encouraging her to snitch because what did she think would happen?  Has she never watched the show?  YOU DO NOT SNITCH!

So anyway TPTB got their obligatory "shock exit" for the season and Abbie and the others discuss the fallout while Abbie waves her rose around pointing at people and talking into it as if it were a microphone which I find amusing.

So the snitch is sent on her way screaming "W T F HAPPENED?" in the car all the way up the road.  What a classy lass.

Ep 14 preview and call the police because Abbie's pants seem to have been stolen.  Nice to see her curls again though.

Helena cries real tears.  She's been struggling to keep it together for a few eps now IMO.  She wants out and I feel for her.
