I just watched part of their FSD again, and I find it so odd that Hannah needs to make such a point that they should "just talk" in the FS.   I don't think I've ever seen a season other than Emily's, and rightfully so because of her daughter that such an issue was made that we're just going to talk, and not have sex.  Even the next morning, the discussion was that they didn't have sex.  Why not have it like any other season where it's just left up to us to assume they did or didn't?  Why make such a point to say they didn't have sex when it's the producers are making it very obvious that she did with Peter?  Hannah tells Luke she doesn't like anyone questioning her sexuality, so why would she care if we think she may or may not have had sex with Tyler?  Why couldn't she wait until they were alone to say, I don't want to have sex?

I feel like there's a bit of a disconnect, many of the kissing scenes with Tyler were cut short.  When we did see them together, we see Hannah taking the initiative, pushing Tyler on bed to make out, or straddling him.  She was just straddling him in the car on his HTD the week before and now she wants to put the brakes on and have their emotional connection catch up?  Not buying it.

I was just making a comment in another thread about scenes that were most likely cut from Tyler and Hanna’s dates and especially as it goes toward the ending, because that showed possibly too much obvious connection between them and they ( TPTB) have to really figure out ways to leave some ‘ doubts’ for the viewers and not give away too much too soon.
In that particular scene, the first part of Hannah speech is very animated and she talks to him directly ( I love when we kiss, you hold me’ etc) and when she says that she ‘ doesn’t want to go to the FS to have sex’ she is looking down, like she is reciting some lines, to question him about his intentions. After he answered her, she does not hesitate to kiss him and proceed to go to the boat.
So maybe it is partly some reassurance, because she cared and wanted to see if he’d respect her boundaries.
Also she just had a hot sexy date with Peter, who was visibly very eager to get into action, but maybe that’s actually what helped her realized that there was not the emotional connection needed to continue with him.

For me Tyler allowed her to finally set boundaries with men and in terms of having sex or not, where she may not have been as candid before. She did say somewhere that in the past guys would push anyway, and she would give up or give in. That emotional morning realization is a game changer for her, I think, and for her to realize and admit to the camera that NO MAN EVER MADE HER FEEL RESPECTED THAT WAY... I’m choking up just thinking of it.
So in that way, as she clearly said, their relationship needed to get to build their emotional connection at the same level as their physical NOT that there was NO connection, but to MATCH UP their unmistakable high level on the physical aspect.

Tyler is truly showing her, in his actions, that he cares and that his goal is set for the long haul. That pillow-talk is a very bonding experience and I like that they both brought it up...it feels right for those two.

I re-watched the massage scene from the daytime portion of her FD with Tyler and noticed that when Tyler "took over" as masseuse, he only touched her legs and stayed well below her butt. SImilarly he only massaged her back even though she was topless. I also remember on their HTD when putting suntan lotion on each other, Tyler asked her where she wanted it and her answer was "I don't care". And he then rubbed it on her midrift and avoided any more private contact.

Tyler has always shown the utmost respect for Hannah and made zero attempts to get too sexy with her even though she may have been open to that. This is very different from at least one of the others whose hands strayed a bit farther north than her legs.

I agree! If Hannah had sex with only Jed OR Peter and then did not with Tyler, I might think differently. But, to do so with two guys and reportedly send Peter home at the F3 RC, and keep Tyler is different.

I think she didn't want to "just" have sex with Tyler. She wanted/wants it to be the beginning of something more serious. I'm still not ruling out the idea that they are/will eventually be together.

Told ya!!!! Ty was ALWAYS the F1 and one night thinking about the JT hate tweet...and RS’ ludicrous statement that Hannah had a better chance of going back to Jed and Ty was possibly going to LA about being the lead...the smell of the foiler to Steve’s spoiler became clearer. Hannah will get her wish of a surprise ending in which she learned about herself, good and bad . Then, she fell for the most amazing man to ever be on this show. Start collecting the passengers on the HaT express!!!! :dancing peg:

IMO, the least respectful was Jed, feeling and squeezing her butt while she was in his lap. First of all, he shouldn’t have done that on camera and secondly, she shouldn’t have allowed it. I think it was Ned. I was so appalled I’m not sure.

JMHO - sex can be a relief of sexual tension. It can also be a way of getting reassurance that our partner is there for us. It can also fulfill and satisfy and connect. This last happens when there is a strong emotional bond that just makes everything feel right. The emotional connection makes the sex more satisfying and satisfying sex deepens the emotional connection.

By setting sex aside and focusing on the emotional communication Hannah did two things: 1) gave her a chance to test drive communications which she has seen lacking in her own parents marriage 2) set the stage for the kind of sex that truly satisfies. She did far more for Tyler than (pardon the crudeness) opening her legs - she opened her heart.
