Makes sense now why we got those random pics of Angie setting up for a date involving dogs (here) but they didn't show who she was with.  Angie loves dogs too (her dogs were often seen in Gogglebox episodes) so Ryan was a good casting choice for her IMO.



But, he was tagged in multiple IG posts early August (no pics of him in person, but his name was attached to pics from events) so IMO not F1.  Also he lives in Adelaide and I can't see Angie moving to SA, nor Ryan moving his massive dog family interstate.

Bit off topic, but @Bobette you mentioned the Googlebox episodes and I have watched the couple posted with some of Matt's episodes at the Bachelor Archives and I have to say that I really enjoyed them. Made me want to watch some of those shows they were watching.

@Sprite I hear you - I am a massive fan of Gogglebox!  The premise sounds ridiculous - it's a TV show about watching people watch TV shows - but it's just so entertaining and I love the "fly on the wall" aspect of seeing into people's homes and lives.  

I also think it's a good reflection of "average" Aussies. Yvie (Angie's housemate/Gogglebox partner when they did the show) said they don't even get paid!  The house gets a "location fee" but renters get nothing, so definitely not in it for the money.  

No wonder this guy looked so different to the norm.

Yes and no. I mainly like the fact that he's different to the guys who usually get cast for this show.  Aggro alpha males, clean cut entrepreneurs and gym junkie personal trainers do nothing for me. Give me geeky/camp/quirky/weird/unique any day.

Plus imagine all the insider info I'd get...

@Bobette I agree with you that the usual type that they seem to be casting doesn’t appeal to me much either. Matt is just outside the norm enough and so genuinely nerdy and yet sexy ( that’s a lot of adverbs!) I also found Sam ( from Sophie and BIP 1) really interesting and endearing.

Yeah I still can't believe we got Matt.    Totally broke the mould there and he's been great IMO.  I'll be interested to see if they follow through with Bette AU 2020 and cast someone different or if it will be another 20-something blonde.  

Have you watched our most recent season of Bette yet (with Ali?). Her F1 was what I would call the "typical" contestant and held no appeal for me but I liked Jules for his eccentricity and her F2 was quite soft/effeminate which is very attractive to me.

@Bobette No, not watched Ali yet. Maybe you’re tempting me... As I started my Bach Archive ‘ Tour ‘ with BIP 1 ...it gave me a good plunge into diverse cast rejects as that format is more conducive to know the participants better, I think, and I really didn’t care for Ali, upon first impressions and it got worse as it progressed...all the way to the really sick way she left Grant... no comments but , as you said before, not my favorite person, seems really fake and fame hungry...
But, I’m gonna check Jules out and report back...
So back on this one, where is she from? A previous season? I haven’t looked deeply yet. What are the expectations for her season?

@Astrobach Jules is on BiP2 so you'll come across him if you watch that (... though he doesn't come out of it looking too good, especially since the girl he teams up with, who was a villain on Nick's season, has one of the greatest redemption edits in the history of the AU franchise and was the star of the show IMO)

So back to Angie, she is best known in AU for being on Gogglebox which is a fly-on-the-wall reality show about ordinary people watching TV.  Sounds ridiculous but it's actually really funny.  Some episodes are uploaded to the Archive underneath the episodes of Matt.  Angie was on with her housemate/best friend Yvie.  

After they left Gogglebox they went on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here AU together, where Yvie placed runner up.  Angie is sharp and witty and a deep thinker, and I am having trouble working out what kind of guy she'd be looking for.  None of the guys released so far seem like they would tick all her boxes IMO.

She is generally well liked by the Australian public and just well known enough to generate interest, while not being so famous that she'd have had her "pick of the crop" when it comes to guys.  That was where Sophie's season fell down IMO - the girl could probably have had any man she wanted, on the show or IRL.

I wish there were more on Bach Archive!
I can’t help but because I misread your comment and thought that Jules was Ali’s F2! And I didn’t see the appeal...we’ll physical, at least for me. On the other hand Todd’s looks are much more my style too. Now I’ll give it a watch ...
