Bachelorette 15 - Hannah Brown - General Discussion - *Sleuthing Spoilers* #2

I already thought including the footage of Jed admitting to Hannah that he was here for a platform felt like they threw shade at him. I remember even leaving an unpopular opinion about (since the popular opinion was that he was being honest) it on Reddit after that episode because it was such a meta thing to say and at that time I just couldn't see it as honesty since how would it matter to admit it now when in actuality the show is going to be a platform to gain attention to him and subsequently his music regardless !

Now with the Latvia episode being a full blown musical platform for Jed, I do think the editing team knows what it is doing. I think there is a story that is going to unfold and I am not sure it will make Jed look good by anyway. There is a whole other department that works on the story lines of the show while they travel so I think the Latvia episode is definitely the beginning of Jed's downfall. I remember Sean went after Emily post her date with another contestant in fact he was shown screaming her name in the middle of the streets but he never got the "evil music" edit Jed got. So maybe they really do not care about Jeds F1 status anymore ! that's what my take away was about his edit.

What do you mean downfall ? I know they like to make it like a rollercoaster ride . I see Hannah telling Jed she loves him or something . Is that Latvia? I agree they want to wash their hands of this after they cash out. Is the storyline the Bachelorette who didn’t want anyone with a gf but fell anyway ?

TPTB are eating up all this drama, publicity and attention, even if it’s caused them additional editing along the way.

If Jed had said anything to Hannah about Hayley - and it's shown - I would bet dollars to donuts that it's going to not match up with what Hayley has posted evidence of (Jed will sugar coat it), and it will ignite this issue all over again and he will look worse than he already does now.

I think that at the very least the one truth (backed up with physical evidence provided by Haley) is that Jed was in a relationship with Haley prior to leaving Nashville and flying out to LA to begin filming the Bachelorette show.  And he himself even admitted that his intention for going on the show in the first place was to use the show as a platform to help launch his singing career.  So far, no proof of the other accusations regarding his behavior after filming ended have surfaced.  But both of those things are the truth, period.

I personally believe Haley's version of events, that they were dating, and that she believed him when he said that he only wanted to make it to the F5.  And now I see that he even borrowed Haley's guitar case to take with him.  That can also be verified with a picture showing it on her IG account.

I truly hope that Jed did tell Hannah something while the show was being filmed, his version, because I agree that he will make it appear like he was a standup guy who was completely honest with Haley prior to leaving for the show.  He will sugar coat it for Hannah, and she will eat it up.

In the end , Jed will make a pretty penny too by selling his version. Not that he can counteract dated text messages but certainly to say, I didn’t plan to fall in love with Hannah, it just happened and we are soulmates No matter what he says, he can’t get around the fact he lied to stay longer on this show and F5 positioning as Haley stated makes sense. Jmo

I am just speculating at this point. I just think the more they included the footage of Jed singing or playing a musical instrument the more he dug a hole for himself to come out from. It's just not a good direction to end on at episode 6. He has a one-on-one next week and it would be interesting to watch what he says as I don't think he has an excuse to sing to her. I want to actually watch how they converse with each other !?! What do they even connect on aside from his music ? I want Hannah to be less into him and for once Jed to look like he tries on his date with her.

Others have noted that Hannah doesn't seem to be doing a lot to help promote her own season right now, so when was the last (or latest) round of interviews done by her where she discussed the episodes, or just the show in general?  Was it before the People Magazine article was released?

That truth could be ... awkward? ... for Jed to admit (if indeed he did). One representation that I believe is still unchanged in modern contracts (this came from Trista's which was at one time publicly posted on the internet) is:

I am currently single; specifically meaning I am not currently in a marital relationship (of any nature), nor a cohabitation relationship involving physical intimacy or a monogamous dating relationship of more than two months in duration.

So unless Jed was cheating on Hayley (and thus not monogamous) he lied when he signed his contract. If he told the truth (and they still put him on the show) then they knew about the GF before filming started.

@misslurking I did notice the music was kinda ominous . He says he wants to be Hannah’s rock and look now , he’s a heavy anchor that is sinking her . Didn’t CH say things will get clearer in the end ? Wonder what end ? The end of Luke or the Finale. Hope it works towards your theory tbh.

We’re getting close to another great episode of #TheBachelorette...but really this one is great. I know I know last week was odd. But it’ll all make sense in the end

I think they have a narrative planned out for this season and they are not really backing Jed up at all in his mess ! This my observation so far ! Infact they are more than happy with the press coverage the show is getting and I am sure they are happy that there is so much conversation around it.

If ABC was trying to protect their F1 they would promt ET or other news site to give Jed's friends or family members a platform to give out statements backing Jed up as a stand up guy and downplaying Hayley's stories to undercut her side ! Jed's radio silence is really making more space for Hayley to go on her own press tour and kill his reputation little by little.
