Channel Ten has previously come under fire for the lack of diversity on The Bachelor Australia.

And in a very progressive move, producers have cast a series of ethnic contestants on the new season.

Photos taken during filming at The Bachelor mansion in Sydney last week, show the first black contestant meeting Bachelor Matthew Agnew for the first time.



Dressed in a dazzling pink layered tulle dress, the statuesque model was seen flirting up a storm with the astrophysicist, who looked dapper in a traditional black and white tuxedo.

While Channel Ten is yet to unveil all of this year's contestants, the addition of at least two ethnic contestants comes after years of uproar over the network's lack of diversity.

Pretty clear IMO Vakoo's a talker so I'd expect her to do quite a bit of narration.  Comes across as a bit of a nutcase/airhead IMO but it might be an act, not sure...

Reality TV fans got a glimpse of her last Wednesday when 'super nerd' Bachelor Matthew Agnew was seen laughing and joking with her on set.

And the woman, who looked stunning in a fuchsia pink dress, can now be revealed as model and YouTube star Vakoo Kauapirura.

Vakoo is listed as a 5ft 10 model with Scoop Management and is believed to be about 23 years old.

She has also appeared on YouTube, most notably in a Vlog called 'I Shaved My Hair,' during which Vakoo takes her followers to a salon for an extreme haircut.

Daily Mail Australia understands that the beauty was born in Namibia, then moved to the UK before settling in Sydney around seven or eight years ago.

I'd be surprised if she is let go so soon. I'd think TPTB would try to milk their sole black woman being on the show for as long as they can. It's so transparent how they are to try pretend they are diverse. jmo
