Let’s just call him Nervous Ned/Jed the Jerk. IMO, he kinda blew up what matters most unless he can write one helluva song about it and get someone talented to sing it.

Yes. IIRC it was the day after CMA fest that Jed called Haley - but she was on the phone with her mother and asked her mother if she should take the call and her mother advised her not to - that if Jed really wanted to talk to her he'd call back. (Source - RS podcast #136) He never did.

JMHO but after that rather cool shoulder he got at CMA, Jed wanted to try to get Haley to keep quiet about things and when she didn't take the call or try to call him back, he got the answer (that he didn't want to hear). But I also think that Jed was worried all through filming - knowing the status between him and Haley and having seen how Hannah reacted to the "Scott situation".

Indeed he was and HTD did give that away. IMO he never planned to get as far as HTD (too many chances to get caught) and while I can't condone the way Jed has treated the women in his life, I actually think he wanted to get out around Episode 5 just as he told Haley he planned to. I also believe his rants about being put into some sort of "rose equality" with Luke were a (failed) attempt to get Hannah to send him home at the time of FD. What IMO Jed did not know (and probably could not know) was what production was doing behind his back to push Hannah into picking him.

@Lucas15 Completely agree. TPTB mastered the entire process. I think I am going to feel bad for him by the time it's all over. He is going to be so remorseful.

IMO, he could have contacted Haley when he returned and ended it. His not contacting her was actually worse. He should have been up front with her and things might not have gotten as bad as they did for him. His avoidance of her just fueled the smoldering flames.

He could have just told her that he realized his feelings for her weren't as strong as they needed to be for a relationship and left it at that. That would have neither confirmed or denied his involvement with Hannah so it wouldn't have actually given away the ending. It would have also been true if he had actually fallen for Hannah (I don't think he did).

I am also sure Jed will try to spin a good story at ATFR. I'm not buying any of it.

I feel bad for all of them actually. IMO, all this supposed manipulation by TPTB is cruel - poor Hannah, no-one deserves that treatment

I missed this along the way. I thought it was sleuthed that she was in town for the CMAs briefly, but her time was accounted for except for maybe an hour, so it was thought that there had been no time for a SHV. Do I have that all wrong?

Has anyone else noticed how he licks his lips and sticks his tongue out when he’s stressed? (Watch when they’re having lunch with the locals on the FD) That and the head shaking.... he should definitely cross poker player off the list of potential back up careers.

I read a post on Reddit by someone who claimed to be a specialist in PR crisis management; the discussion topic was whether or not Jed got or will get professional advice in how to handle PR in a crisis. In essence the answer was something like:

If Jed comes on and admits everything and accepts full responsibility for his actions, then we can know he got professional advice. If he comes on and says yes but he actually fell in love with Hannah, then we will know that he didn't.

I told this to my wife and asked her if she agreed with this view and her answer was "Take a look at how Felicity Huffman dealt with the college admissions scandal and compare that to how Lori Loughlin dealt with it."

IMO if Jed comes on and is remorseful then he got good advice and had the good sense to follow it. If he tries to spin it his way or make any excuses for his behavior then he didn't get advice, or didn't follow it.

@BlueTone I think RS reported it. He said that she was seen in a wig. I think he said it was short. (I have read so much I may have imagined it though)
