IMO, the editors went way too far.  

If Nick and Britt are still together, they are going to face a barrage of "default F1" accusations.  Even in the finale preview, Britt is shown expressing doubts, and Nick appears pained (whether he was or not is really immaterial - we are seeing someone torn).  

This is NOT how the final couple should be portrayed at this late stage, IMO.  For the audience to feel good about the ending, they need to feel like the Lead has chosen the right person, and that feelings are reciprocated.  That has STILL not been established.

We haven't seen nearly enough of their connection to make it feasible that either of them is in love IMO (regardless of how they actually felt).  In their efforts to disguise the winner and hype their (probable) next lead, TPTB totally screwed the final couple, IMO.

True, Alex was portrayed as ‘a stage five clinger’ but her and Richie’s infamous chocolate bath pretty much confirmed his feelings for her. Plus I don’t remember all the online mags repeatedly printing Richie and Alex had broken up soon after the final episode, or that he dumps her. It was months after the final episode had aired the media got wind of cracks in their relationship.

IMO when Nick said to Brooke that it was not part of his plan - he meant that tptb told him if he was not going to choose brooke then let her be the one to break it off - as to avoid the same tara backlash from last season....jmo

@Bobette, I agree 100% with your post !

I'm wondering if the show's producers and editors are prompted by the post show outcome prior to the premiere. If things seem rocky or there's a switcheroo. If any of the F3 are likeable and bachelorette material will this affect the edit?
Brooke got a great edit and IMO, so did Sophie. Her commentary and narrations were spot on.
Her, "I'm the real winner" was particularly interesting

The producers aren’t trying to create a likeable couple. They are trying to create a high rating tv show. Just like there is no way daily fail is going to let go of the split story because a split final couple creates a million different possible click bait stories they can pull out of their azz. A happy couple is very limiting story wise for them and they can run all those stories afterwards.

It’s just the way these things work.

I don’t know for sure. Just an educated guess.

This is typical American editing. They care about setting up the next lead...in this case Brooke...and pretty much screw the rest.

I know it is tough for the couple, but if they are truly in love, they will survive. This is nowhere near as bad as Des and Chris and they made it. If it's meant to be, it will be.
