Re: Weather - Discussion
@GuardianAngel I made it. Zero issues, but there were still a few cars in the ditch that hadn't been pulled out. Hardly any snow at the folks house.

Re: Weather - Discussion
Looking at the pictures of Buffalo on TV reminded me of the Blizzard of '78 in Boston. No one went anywhere for 5 days there was so much snow. I was stuck at work for 5 days!
Glad everyone is safe. One of our sons and his fiancé were involved in the Southwest Airlines mess on Christmas Day and arrived here 6 hours late. We received 3 inches of rain between 6p to 6 am today already! We need it but that amount of rain in a short period of time can create havoc.

Re: Weather - Discussion
@Sprite Glad to hear it.
I was in St Catharines earlier, 25 minutes away. I saw grass on people's lawns, compared to mounds of snow all around me. It's suppose to get to 10c in a few days, then we'll have flooding.
One of the issue's during this storm is the number of abandoned vehicles in the way of clean up.
This is an incredible way to clear the cars out of the way so they can plow. It's not a matter of just plowing, they have to scoop the snow, dump it in a dump truck, and take it elsewhere. Huge job.
In Buffalo.

Re: Weather - Discussion
I don't know about the rest of you but we were having an "Indian summer" here on Vancouver Island till this week....Holy smokes, snow, freezing temps in October.....now that is strange for here. To make our woodpile last longer, we were hoping not to have a fire till middle of Nov as we have done in previous years.

@Aunties_Love It's been nice all week here in London. Our own Indian summer. It was in the low 20's today, but it's back to more seasonal temps tomorrow. No snow or freezing temp, just some rain and highs of about 9 degrees.
I've made an appointment to get my winter tires put on in a few weeks as it is still too warm currently.

Re: Weather - Discussion
@Sprite yea, our temps are 5 to 9 during the day then -4 overnight. That is so much colder than our normal temps. Normally we should be 10 to 15 during the day and 5 to 6 overnight. I will be so happy when we get back to normal around here.

Re: Weather - Discussion
@Aunties_Love I don't know that there are any normal temps anymore. The last few years have all been outside the norm. Like this summer. Normally we have dry, humid summers and this year there was a lot of rain and hardly any really hot and humid days. My grass was green and lush all summer and usually it dries up for July and August. Last winter we hardly had any snow. I didn't even need my snow blower. I don't know what to expect anymore.
