General Discussion for Bachelor 23 Colton Underwood.

I was talking to a friend who watches the Bachelor franchise shows and she said she's not going to watch for the first time. She said that one thing is he's only 26 and she also commented that he spent so many years not telling anyone that he's a virgin and now he's talking about it on national tv. She's right because it will be even more of a thing in his season and I'm sure that's a good part of why they chose him.

He's not my choice and can't say I'm looking forward to watching. I decided that the only way I would do it is by staying unspoiled as long as I can. I find that being spoiled makes the season seem so long because you're reading about dates and pretty much know the outcome before the season starts on tv. I enjoy the show a lot more when I don't know what's going to happen. I'm mostly watching to get to know the women better and see who might possibly be the next Bachelorette. I don't have any expectations other than that.

I don't know if many of you are around yet but would love to hear why others are staying unspoiled.

@albean99 You pretty much summed up why I'm staying unspoiled.

I find it easier to stay unspoiled when I don't care for the lead. I stayed unspoiled last season because I didn't want Arie for the lead and I'm doing the same this season for Colton. This will be even worse with the virginity thing. I'm already sick of it and we haven't even started.

On top of being too young and the whole virgin thing, I just find him too awkward when he is talking. It's like he can't string a sentence together. IMO he is so busy trying to maintain an image that he can't speak naturally and you know, because of that, tptb will throw everything at him to make him appear even more awkward.

I don't even want to think what they will have the women do him and how young and annoying they will be.

I fully expect the most juvenile show ever. A total, cringe inducing disaster. A jump the shark moment. The only reason I continue to watch is this board. I have been cutting shows off my PVR regularly scheduled watch list this season with a vengeance. DWTS was the latest. Maybe Colton can do the same for me with the Bachelor.

So I have been seeing some promos for Colton's season in the last few days. There are a couple of videos. One has puppies and one has the girls arriving and of course, there is a woman there who for her intro jokes about taking his "V" card. Oh, joy. I would not have predicted that....and then I look up to my post from 3 months ago and I did.


I have not seen much activity on the board for this season. Is there anyone else out there who is still planning to watch unspoiled or should I just not bother and go to the spoiled side?

Sorry, @Sprite.  I haven’t looked for any posts here for a while. I’m starting the season unspoiled and will stay that way for as long as I can or until I figure out the f3.

@albean99 Thank goodness there will be at least two of us. Yes, that is what I hope to do as well. I accidentally spoiled myself last year...I think it was towards the end of the season when I clicked one of the regular spoiler threads and saw an Instagram photo. So far, so good this year. It hasn't been as difficult, mainly because things have been dead this year.

The promos have started and the virginity is front and center. Shocking! I never would have guessed. I'm sure there will be some very aggressive women that were cast just to make things hot and heavy for him. No doubt, there will be some sweet virgin(s) that he probably will get rid of ASAP, the usual drama queens who can't get along with anyone and aren't there for the "right" reasons, and probably a few with some tragic stories that will be set up for the next Bette. Maybe, we can have our first female virgin Bette?

@albean99 Do you have any idea why the premier episode is three hours long? I just saw a promo on my local station saying that and was wondering what was going on. I thought it is usually only two hours. Maybe some updates of former contestants?

Well the sh*t is about to hit the fan. I hope I am not the only unspoiled person on here tonight. Bring on the virgin Bachelor... and his crazy suitors.

For me, Colton is the least attractive bachelor out there...ever. Jake is unattractive to me because of his personality, but Colton, hands down is the least appealing physically. And that's not even getting into all his virgin angst and tears. If he is anything like he was on Paradise, they should have saved his tears in buckets to help in drought stricken areas.

Bracing myself...here comes the previews...and all the fame hos are out in force all over the country at viewing parties.

Here is CH basking in the latest "most dramatic" season. And they are wasting more time with all these viewing parties. Just what I need Kaityln...looking all blonde...no doubt trying to stick it to Shawn who probably could give a sh*t and probably isn't even watching. And CH's mom...really??? Why? Trying to placate the female fans with Blake and Jason at some viewing party. Goose and Krystal in a hot tub in the parking lot waiting for CH.

So 10 wasted minutes. Lord help me.

Finally...15 minutes in. Cassie a speech pathologist. She seems cute and nice enough. She hopes to click with Colton and leave with him... Hmmm.

Next Miss Alabama. Could the accent be any thicker? Hannah. She annoys me. She has only kissed 4 guys, but isn't a virgin. Just too OTT.

Katie the dancer. She wants security and stability. Yeah, dance will give that to you. She annoys me too.

Beach girl Heather the virgin. She met Colton at some event. She has never even kissed anyone. I will bet money that she will not win.

Miami girl with an autistic brother. Stay home lady.

Some other southern, country girl...Demi. Her mom is in federal prison....possibly out by hometowns. Who wants to make a bet producer will make that happen? I'm sure that had to be shared on national TV and she wants to try all the different cupcakes. Classy.

Hey Sprite, I'm unspoiled as well, tuned into the first half hour and honestly, I don't know if I can watch this season....

More filler with Jason and Blake. We are half an hour in and still no sign of Colton. Apparently he is super attractive. Not to me.

Here come Kendall and Sienna to the party. I'm already bored. This is so forced....and finally...the naked shot of Colton taking a shower on the beach with the porn music. Working out and more shower shots. Christian school shots and he was chubby and spent lots of time alone. Football helped him. He's been in love before...oh please??? When? With who? Shock Becca...please. He was devastated. Please. I just want to b*tch slap him and these stupid producers.

Obligatory chat with CH. Pretending as if they care who fans wanted and trying to make people feel sorry for him because people weren't thrilled with his virgin choice and apparently let him know on SM. The obligatory honoured and humbled speech along with more naked shower shots. Kill me now. I am so bored.
