Bachelor 23 - Colton Underwood - Media - SM - Discussion - *Sleuthing Spoilers*

Now I'm interested and will watch the season. Wasn't planning to before he supposedly chose a girl that actually may suit him, and let the others go early. Makes it something different - yay.

At this point I’m thinking that maybe Hannah and Tayshia are just not ready to come back to social media. Maybe they’re not ready for people to start asking questions. We don’t know how this all played out and how it affected each of these girls. I would not be surprised if they left feeling blindsided, clearly not what they expected to happen.

I'm hoping that we will get to see more of Colton & Cassie after the FRC/engagement, like they showed us with Becca & Garrett. Finally, we may be getting our love story

Agreed.  There has been a tradition of Bettes being able to let guys go early but not Bach leads. Leads, and others, have suggested that some things are negotiable and other things not. I kinda think Colton was the perfect pick to bring equity - a virgin male to make changes to the process  regarding male leads. Makes sense that said virgin with a lot of religious type girls to choose from might be the one to end the Bach requirement of having 3 FSDs. TPTB may even want to have this option in place because it will now be a possibility for future seasons and keep viewers guessing. Same option now for both genders.

It also makes sense IMO that a guy like Colton with little dating experience wouldn’t be as jaded by real world dating. In RL, there are lots of datable options but for someone who hadn’t been through the ringer of dating then dealing with heartbreak then repeat repeatedly, finding someone special for the first time would stir greater urgency; a sense of if you snooze you lose and someone else could snap her up so I imagine he may not have wanted to risk that or risk her doubting him by keeping the other 2 around. She is essentially his first love. Making the change he did is tangible commitment.
Should make for a refreshing story. I think it benefits the franchise to have something different so doubt it caused open warfare. The same old, same old was getting old and tired.  IMO women, the majority of viewers, would welcome a story where they can identify with the F1 and be the only one in the room he sees and know he has intentionally severed all other options in order to focus solely on getting to know her better. Good stuff for young viewers to think about for once they’re past the normal dating just to date stage.
It is a more accurate scenario to real life where all other women must become secondary if she is to be his first priority and he is ready for the excitement of relationship potential.
I think it will be a fun watch and a game changer... something the franchise perhaps wanted and happened to get lucky.

Question, I have not followed Colton prior to now. For anyone who knows...is that place that he is posting from in recent Instagram posts his actual apartment in Denver? He tagged it Denver. Or is that a safe house?

I keep thinking that it's a SHV because I've been following him on IG since the Bachelorette, and I've never seen this place before. It's the same place he posted from yesterday and he didn't tag it, which I thought was interesting. He hasn't been very active on Twitter for the last couple of days, so that also adds to my suspicion that it's a SHV. Does anyone know if they're allowed to post from those visits?

I hope it's ok to put this here, but when someone tweeted at Colton that she thought his season was going to be all about his virginity, he tweeted this response:

"False. Of course it will be mentioned time to time because it’s a part of who I am. As a whole, you’ll actually get a full sense of who I am. See you on Jan 7"

He speaks about his virginity in the present tense, which makes me wonder whether that was a slip, admitting that he has not yet lost his virginity, or speaking in the present is just something he has grown accustomed to doing for the last 26 yrs.
