Re: Bachelor Australia Season 6 - Nick Cummins - SM Media #2 - *Sleuthing Spoilers*
so i would love it if nicks f1 will go on this kokoda trip with him? or if they have split if she will just do media rounds alone ? then when nick is back he will make a statement? or maybe nick will let osher or his own publicist make a statement for him while he is away? or maybe he will just send a message via his IG

Re: Bachelor Australia Season 6 - Nick Cummins - SM Media #2 - *Sleuthing Spoilers*
Posted in the episode thread HERE regarding the finale on Oct 4 and Nick will be away on his trek Oct 1-11 so he likely won't be around for any media or for the typical couple appearing on The Project after the finale.
This year the premiere aired weeks later than past seasons. If Nick is single, I am wondering if Ten delayed the premiere to mid-August so that Nick would be away during and after the finale? (I recall how Ten wanted to separate themselves from Blake post-show and still do to this day).
Unless I missed it or there was a conflict in scheduling, Masterchef ended the end of July so I'd think if they wanted Ten could have had Nick's season air the beginning of August and then the finale would have been before Nick's trip. By having it premiere August 15 it makes it so Nick will be away the finale and not doing press?
It's strange that Nick would be away during finale week. I would think Ten would want to ensure they have a happy couple to parade about for media and do The Project, etc like past couples.
If Nick is single and no longer with F1 or didn't pick anyone, then it would make sense to me that Ten would be fine having Nick not around for finale week and the dumped-F1 or the final women would be doing the media by themselves after the finale

This.
For a football player I find him remarkably respectful of women... which I am sure is not an act simply because there would have been a million stories leaked by now. He seems to be a monogamous relationship kind of guy to me. Plus he is super smart and a deep thinker and doesn't seem to have an ego. I think he is impressive.
But I am an Aussie who grew up in the sporting arena so I kinda get it. I can see how he wouldn't be to some people's taste
I myself can't stand pretty boys.
If they can't laugh at themselves I'm out.
If they have skinny necks... eeew... I can't deal at all.
If they are a bit too manicured... nup.
Give me a manly man any day of the week.

I understand it and that many men talk like this but I can't defend it. I think his humor in regards to how he talked about the women is gross and demeaning and sexist.

Nick compared to men who are worse doesn't make him better by comparison imo. I look more at how a man should be talking about women and compare it to the best not the worst.

AllAboutLove wrote:Nick and Sophie are both celebrity leads. That's why they have high ratings. jmo
Sophie may have won ratings but was a failure when it came to her lasting with her F1 and faked a relationship imo.
Nick if he dumped his F1 or is now single will also be a failure in the relationship success of the show.
Still, TEN cares more about ratings than they do relationship success though so I would expect more Celebrity leads in the future.
If that's the case, that's fine but I won't be interested. I think once TPTB went into Celebs for leads they jumped the shark. I miss the old days of this show
I find it hard to take this show seriously as a foundation for a long lasting relationship - to me it's just entertainment and I'd much rather watch someone who's comfortable in front of the camera than someone who's not.
That for me is the advantage of Nick and Sophie as Leads, not the fact that they're famous. There would be plenty of celebrities who would be terrible to watch IMO (eg Schappelle Corby) because they wouldn't have the same presence.
Georgia was a good compromise IMO because she was barely known outside Tasmania and couldn't be considered a celebrity, and yet she had TV experience and knew how to hold herself on screen. Another Lead like her would be good.
I certainly don't miss watching Leads like Ritchie though and I don't think the show could have survived if they continued in that direction. At the end of the day it's the sleuthing that I enjoy most so as long as it's on my screen I'll still watch.

Compared to blokes like the hosts of the Footy Show (a very popular program in AU) Nick's TAME!

This actually makes sense if nick and f1 are no longer together....i can see them doing the whole #womensupportingwomen and considering how close these final girls are
Maybe nick and f1 will do an interview before he leaves and they will just show that or publish that interview while he is away?
but i really am hoping that f1 goes on the kokoda trip with him

Re: Bachelor Australia Season 6 - Nick Cummins - SM Media #2 - *Sleuthing Spoilers*
That would mean that TEN knew very early on that nick either picked nobody which I don’t think he did.... or dumped the F1 early on too... or why not expecting backlash if nick went back with his ex or why not with less probabilities did a Blake/Louise
That would confirm DM source about: this is not what we wanted.
It will be interesting to see where are the girls the week of the finale. Home or away.

I feel like the women already have been doing a bit of #womensupportingwomen. It immediately reminded me of the women on Blake's season who did the same thing
I suspect if Nick is single and he dumped F1 then we'll see the F1 doing media the way Sam Frost did and be on The Project, etc.

I think if Nick is single then Ten knew a long time ago as did Daily Mail.
Unless I missed it, it's very telling that Ten has not refuted Daily Mail's claims or any rumors of Nick having broken up with his F1

Re: Bachelor Australia Season 6 - Nick Cummins - SM Media #2 - *Sleuthing Spoilers*
i wonder if nick actually fell in love?
you can hear Britt in season preview saying she has fallen for him? and sophie saying she is obviously falling in love with him.. but i wonder if he did?
imo i notice nick seems pretty good friends with his exes, so i am hoping for him and his f1 are still friends no matter what..
i am so glad that finale is sooner rather than later because i need to know whats going on...

Re: Bachelor Australia Season 6 - Nick Cummins - SM Media #2 - *Sleuthing Spoilers*
I would think it improbable Nick and his F1 would do the Kokoda Trail together as it would give away the winner before the final episode. Personally I agree with AAL’s supposition that Channel 10 have distanced themselves from the backlash of Nick breaking up with his F1 fairly quickly post show. Showing Nick in the preview looking at a ring makes me think he does give it to a woman (unless it is a copy of the Canadian finale with no one getting a ring).
I personally have no issue with the show being re-titled to what it now is - The Bachelor (and Bacheloette) find fame (not love). Sophie’s season was a farce and Nick’s is looking very much like it will follow suit.
As for Nick’s Aussie sense of humour it isn’t to my taste. I prefer intelligent wit.

Re: Bachelor Australia Season 6 - Nick Cummins - SM Media #2 - *Sleuthing Spoilers*
I was wondering the same thing, as I don't recall there being a reason why Bach didn't follow directly on from Masterchef as it has done for the last couple of years. It makes sense if Nick and F1 split fairly soon after FRC, so 10 held back on Bach a couple of weeks so that Nick was well out of the country when the sh*t hits the fan.
It could also explain why Nick is doing the bare minimum of promotion, and potentially not being discreet with his pick up behaviour post show as he is pissed off with the show for the whole process, and also that they're not giving him right of reply on the interview circuit which could potentially affect his image and future shilling potential?

IMO Nick will have no trouble talking his way out of any negative backlash. His main fans (sporty guys) aren't going to think any less of him if he didn't magically fall in love with any of these women IMO. In fact they'll probably admire his guts for not faking it for the sake of a farcical happy ending.
IMO all he really has to say is that the process wasn't for him, he couldn't fall in love in such a short space of time, and didn't want to string anyone along. I agree that the delayed airdate could have been deliberate to ensure he's off grid while it blows over, but I think he'll emerge unscathed.
