Bachelorette 14 - Becca Kufrin - Episode 8 - July 16th - *Sleuthing Spoilers*

The beauty is we all see things differently. I do not think Garrett is a bigot, IMO he’s not intolerant nor has he proven unwilling to change yet. I think his ex wife has chosen to move on, and there’s nothing more for her to say. They probably brought out the worst in each other and that’s that. Unfortunately for her Garrett ended up on a reality show and talked about his side of the relationship. Them’s the breaks these days. Be careful who you marry. People remarry all the time, and most of the time they only get one side. Not crazy for Becca to believe him and his family. His father was playfully teasing Garrett with the goodbye, Becca and everyone in the moment was laughing. They’re clearly a loving family that likes to have fun. I think the rose bush was a sweet gesture and just like their relationship time will tell on the height on whether it makes it or not. I think they, and the rose bush have as good a shot as any.

I watched the last part again just now, the dad seems flat out drunk to me. What a crazy man! Did you notice Garrett saying he was so glad he got his parents blessing to get engaged to Becca? He's supposed to get Becca's parent(s) blessing to marry HER. This poor child/man!

IMO it's completely normal for any of the guys to want their families blessing/support of their relationship before a very potential proposal, especially in this heightened version of reality where this is the first and only time they'll meet her before an engagement.

i also think because what he apparently went through in his previous relationship he would want the support from his family this time around....emotional abuse is a pretty serious thing to overcome if that is what he had previously - jmo

If they make it, that’s great.  I’m all for love.  I don’t hate Garrett, but I hate what he’s liked on SM and that he’s talked publically about his exwife without taking a single bit of responsibility for his marriage.  I just can’t forget that.

For the record, we don't need a lesson on how long we've been watching the show. There are many posters that have watched from the beginning, sleuthed for years, and know exactly what edit means and how they edit the shows. They know more than the normal viewers will ever know.

Also, when describing fans or those who are not fans, be specific to who is being referred to, otherwise it appears the post is directed at members.

In My Opinion...and also IN MY EXPERIENCE ONLY, there can be a lot that goes on on TB that no viewers see or hear. Again, IMO, the social media scandal with Garrett is overblown and since he was the front runner from the beginning, TPTB needed drama....so, as they have done for the past 13 plus seasons, they cut and paste what they want to make a contestant look good or bad. As far as bashing the ex....again, IN MY OPINION, the producers cut and paste a lot, so none of us really know the whole conversation. That's what makes the drama!

Good point but let's not forget that Meghan Markle's father didn't escort her down the aisle, for other reasons (not that we really know the truth). Maybe the father is a drug addict, alcoholic, estranged from someone present at the wedding, sick, hospitalized, in jail, or any other number of reasons. Maybe he is estranged from Garrett's ex wife? You can't necessarily draw a certain conclusion from someone's absence or presence at an event. IMO only.

There are numerous members of the forum and followers of this show aware of edit and the motivations regarding such for cast. It’s good you are mindful of such, too.
Perhaps TPTB feel Garrett and his likes, views etc are douche worthy. Idk. Would not surprise me personally.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. I don’t believe in repaying hatred with hatred, I just happen to be part of those that have zero tolerance for any form of bigotry especially with the ongoings in our society lately.
While I do hope that Garrett undergoes true redemption from the inside out, I totally disagree with those saying that Garrett didn't really exhibit bigotry;  those doing so are enablers and also complicit in this whole fiasco and IMHO that is why we see bigotry on the rise in our society.  I have said this before and I will say it again, IMHO folks that have not experienced any form of marginalization will continue to see nothing wrong with what Garrett did but to each their own......all jmho.

@mercieme IA he has his fans on SM that adore him. When he created the fake IG for show purposes and kept the original one and made it private to keep everything hidden, I was checking to see which negative posts he was deleting. After awhile I stopped reading the posts when it's obvious to me the majority of people he follows are private people or famous people.  Those that feel they see nothing wrong with his likes are entitled to their opinion, and no one will ever change my opinion which started when he deleted the sword link while he was spending extra time with Becca after the FRC. That must have seemed important to him to get rid of it after you just got engaged and are spending time at an exotic resort.

I wish them a life time of happiness, however, I can't get past his views. I live in a country where I treat everyone equally and everyone has the same opportunities regardless of gender, gender preference, visible disabilities, non visible disabilities, origin of birth, you name it, we are equal. He sickens me.

^^^Yes GA ...This is exactly how I feel! I watched season through HTDs unspoiled and started rooting for Jason after their 1x1 in Richmond. IMO best match for her.

I read back in May about Garrett liking all those hateful SM posts and I found that super disturbing. I think that Becca seems like a good liberal gal and just can't believe that she ends up engaged G. I also think it's a huge red flag that G divorced 6 months after marriage. If she was emotionally abusive towards him, that's truly unfortunate. That said, he told Becca that he is always positive and has only been "down" about 5x in his life. Well, he said on show that he and ex wife dated for a year and a half, engaged for 1 yr and married for 6 months so about 1095 days together. IMO ... his wife's emotional abuse could have hardly made much of dent if he was only "down" about 5x in his life? IDK ...

Oh well ... now I am rooting for Becca to pull an Arie and go back to sweet Blake!!
