Bachelor Australia Season 6 - Nick Cummins - Episodes - *Sleuthing Spoilers*

Just re-watched the promo and there's a bit about heartbreak "cutting both ways" with a girl's voice saying she has to leave. I'm wondering if Brooke might walk out? Would free her up to be next Bette.

I suspect the same thing and would hedge a bet with the ‘what am I even doing here comment’ there is a cap I will place here but also in the scaps thread that looks like it could match that conversation too. 

Thanks @Sundy for bringing the screen caps over - IMO that's Brooke's head in the above scene.  I'm also wondering if Dasha might leave at some point because there were rumours the show messed her up mentally/emotionally and she was active on social media about half way through filming.  

But yes, I think Brooke will be the "heartbreak" which cuts both ways.  I like Brooke but I personally feel like she was cast with Bette in mind from the very beginning (to fit with their new "look how diverse we are!" casting approach, it seems) and her getting the FIR/key was a producer decision IMO.  

Just something about her claiming not to know who he is, and then watching them interact, makes me think they both know she's there for a purpose.  They almost seem too comfortable together, as if there's no pressure, since they both know she won't be one of the final two, if that makes sense.

It makes lots of sense @Bobette. I’m especially interested when they seem to be a “connection” with the lead and contestants that makes me question the genuineness of the show.

I'm going out on a limb here but IMO I don't think that's Brooke in the above photos with Nick. I rewatched my tv recording and the hair is quite wispy and lighter at the ends whereas Brooke's is quite silky and dark all the way. She is wearing a green dress though so should be easy to match at some point.

Good pickup @Agent99 - I was only going by the still pics but will have to rewatch the preview.

Long time lurker, first time poster! Just thought I'd add my sleuthing thoughts - listening to the promo again, at first I thought it was that it's Dasha's voice that says "I need to go home" as it makes sense given her rumoured troubles while on the show, but looking at the pics, the earrings of the girl who hugs Nick outside the limo before leaving don't seem to match what Dasha was wearing in what appears to be that night.

What excites me though is at the end of the promo there are two girls who talk about falling in love with him. After listening to the two passages and comparing against other clips, I believe the first voice is Cass who says "I'm falling in love with him, but I'm scared to admit it. I am head over heels and I absolutely don't want that to stop." Now ... I believe the second voice is an exact match for Brit, who says "It's clear that I'm obviously falling in love with him, and that is .... wild." Listening to it over and over again and comparing to other clips of her it sound exactly like her, and nothing like Sophie. Britt's voice is a bit more 'aussie', especially when she says 'and'.

Knowing Britt and Sophie make it to F2, I would've thought they might've used passages from each of them to include regarding love. Do they usually use the F1 & F2 'love' dialogues in the promo? Maybe this year it's an intentional exclusion, or maybe Sophie never said the L word when talking about Nick so they had to use the clip of Cass to give off the idea of there being competed loved interests? If true, could tie in with the idea that the reason why the F1 & F2 are friends post filming this season might be because there was no real competition and/or Sophie as an F2 just wasn't that into Nick as much as Britt was.

Keen to know what everyone else thinks!

I am thinking the same thing - quite possible IMO that they originally had Cass in mind for a heartbroken F2 (similar to Jared last year) but perhaps realised that would be crossing a line into psychological torture for the poor girl since she's obviously VERY into him (and yes I can see Cass saying those love quotes as you point out).  

And they IMO wanted Brooke for next Bette (though I'm not sure if they still do or if she'd take the role...) so Sophie would have been the next logical choice for substitute F2. Similar to last year IMO in that I think they originally had someone else in mind for Matty's F2 - probably Tara - and switched to Elise really late in the game.

One thing I do know is they rarely put matching voices to imagery.  So they person saying she's clearly falling in love with Nick over footage of Sophie and Nick isn't going to be Sophie speaking, IMO, much more likely Britt as you point out so I agree with you there too.  Looking forward to hearing more of your thoughts.

So I finally had a chance to watch the second episode.

Romy...is an annoying know it all who is cutting up the other women...along with Cat and Alecia. Whether she is an actress hired to play a part or not, doesn't matter to me. I don't like it....from any of them. And why is she obsessed with getting the first kiss? She just wants to win.

Shannon is cute, but those shoes were ugly. She was a good sport about everything considering she is afraid of heights. All I could think of as they were standing on the edge of that helicopter with the wind blowing everything around was...why didn't someone tell her not to wear a dress? They seemed to have a good connection, both kind of awkward. She was very touchy, feely with him. Nick not so much, but I don't know if he was just being a gentleman or he is normally a little slow to make the moves on someone. I will need to see more of him and get to know him a little better before I decide.

The photoshoot date was the usual. Some are grabbing at him, others are to the side getting pissed off because they are not the center of attention. Ms. Sunshine doesn't live up to her name...as usual. I was expecting a lot more heat from Nick and Sophie and it just wasn't there. They had about as much attraction as Nick and Cayla...awkward.

I don't know why Romy got the other single date, other than the producers wanted her to. I was distracted the whole time by the top of her jumper. It looked as if there was a safety pin holding the top together, but not very well. She thought that Nick was enjoying the saucy play in the kitchen...I didn't think he did. She annoyed me with her insistence of calling him honey. I don't think Nick was thrilled with it either. Clearly he wasn't on board with her attempts at making out. This date wasn't as good as Shannon's. It felt forced. Romy was attempting to sexually manipulate Nick since she just wants to win rather than get to know the guy. I also have no idea why she thinks the others will be sloppy seconds since he didn't kiss her...he barely tolerated her attempts to do whatever it was she was doing. I do not like her and I frankly don't think he does either...despite giving her the rose. I think that was more producers rather than Nick. I can't believe I agree with Vanessa Sunshine...Romy is a mean girl!

The porn music playing as Romy sashayed into the coctail party with Nick, her boobs bopping along just waiting to fall out... I don't know what date she was on as she was bragging to the other girls. It definately wasn't the same date that I watched. And the bitchiness of her little clique was just annoying. I wanted to slap all three of them! but particularly Romy!!!

So after this episode I would say Nick seems into Brooke. We didn't see much of Brit, but I did notice them sitting and chatting at the cocktail party. They were laughing and seemed very natural and relaxed. I was surprised at just how happy she looked since I didn't see anything to really merit that.

Nick is really growing on me. He is awkward and funny and seems like a big teddy bear. I appreciate how he said that he likes to get to know someone to see if there is a connection before making out...to make it seem that much more special. I think he is a romantic at heart. I am looking forward to the rest of this season.

PS -- When will the three witches be eliminated? I can't stand them. How they treat and speak of some of the other women is plain cruel to me.

@Sprite I am 100% behind you they are horrid. TPTB will keep one if not two in there for some time to come as it is now part of the formula. Which is really unfortunate as the girls are subjected to the bullying for weeks on end just so they can get some good edits

@Sprite Cat leaves sometime between the inflatable ball date at a swimming pool where the girls have their butt munching bathers on display, and the segway date.  So she hangs round till mid-season, after the intruders arrive.  I assume so we can enjoy more of her bitchy narration.

Alisha wasn't pictured on the ball date and neither is Romy.  There's some kind of triple date with Alisha, Romy and Vanessa quadbiking in the Glenworth Valley.  Romy disappears from the paparazzi photos after that. Alisha is on the space hopper group date here but not at the swimming.

So looks like the order of witches leaving is:
Romy 1st
Alisha 2nd
and Cat lasts the longest

I got to finally watch Episode 1 and here are my thoughts.
This episode was strange.
Who is Nick “Honey Badger” Cummins? Raise your hand if you really don’t know him Right off the cuff there’s a barrage of “who do you know”
Brooke pretends she doesn’t know of him, but rugby anyone?
Britt could’ve grown up with him, literally from the same home town
Cass knows him but not really knows him but wants to know him, ya know
Then there’s Sophie who Cat says she knows because there’s an ex
they once shared so she’ll believe the ex because girls and drama
Who is this gossip girl narrator? Who is going to get to Sophie first, Cat or Nick? Yay Nick! Phew Cat will just have to wait because it’s so necessary to bring up in front of everyone.

That whole Cass drama out of the car overshadowed Sophie’s meet with Nick for us viewers but she must’ve made an impression to get his attention and I think they had a really good fun and flirty conversation without being OTT.

Back to Cat’s meow. Her scratch missed the mark and fell flat because Sophie wasn’t there for a cat fight. The other girl was trying too hard and failed easily.
