A few things....
1. The 'likes' were wrong but I was never convinced Garrett conducted himself like a hatemonger/bigot in his everyday life. I know people can pretend to be good while being evil but my first impression from the snippets of episode 1 give me some hope.  I saw Garrett talking to everyone, even a black guy or two, and IMO it didn't come off like cold/forced civility but genuine and warm.
2. That apology was needed and seems sincere. IMO it was mostly, if not all, self written. I hope more of him shines through in later episodes, and I hope we'll see more good.

John graham just commented and said he’s honest and most understanding guy on the block. So definitely a lot of support from the guys.

Also just saw we can add these that were on the show with him:Add to the guys who’s commented in support. Mike(man bun) Chris R, Leo and David R(chicken guy). And we need to really note that Wills was his closest friend on the show. I honestly think someone was out to get Garrett. Or they wanted their day of fame. They did not like it that Becca chose him. Maybe even jealous of her. All of these guys plus countless others have stood up for him. He was put in a place where he could not even make a statement because he is under contract with the Bachelorette- till they told him he could. I would never purposely hurt anyone but I know if everything I ever said in life fell under judgment- I would be in trouble. I do not believe he is who others are portraying him to be. I would rather trust Becca and the guys in the house who are backing him. I have not heard of one of them saying anything bad about him.

I think we shouldn't forget that G lived with these guys 24/7 for 8 - 10 weeks with no TV. I think it'd be hard to hide those views for that long. Someone should've overheard a remark or something and be ready to blow the whistle.

Yes. If we start to think this out a little more - in all fairness- why was someone checking up on him. Going through his accounts. Did they do this with all the guys? I am very suspicious on who was out to get him. I really hope this all stops now so we can have our romance story. I think this one is going to outdo most of the others. Excited.

@kerriway it’s actually about 4 weeks for most guys.  They started filming on March 15 and HTDs started April 18.

That's a tough one to answer. Could've been because of the link he had on his IG for a gun company or it could've been a sleuther who scours the likes of all the Bach contestants.

However, this all lands on G, he's responsible for whatever he posts or likes because people will find out in this SM world.

That's not hard to figure out. He got more attention because he was the spoiled F1 and people were looking for any hints to confirm that it was true and instead they found something that they found concerning.

FWIW,to my knowledge , knowing that he is one of the confirmed F3 by RS, sleuthers on reddit started by his following of several accounts that seem "suspicious". https://www.instagram.com/mericasupplyco/ is one of them. He was 'caught' to have been liking consistently the account's posts from October 2017 to February 2018 (before went filming). IMHO

Here is where I stand now, after the controversy.
1.yes, there is an apology that is somewhat addressing the issues that were raised, but it is certainly sounding to me as a PR response from TPTB along with some of Garrett’s feelings or defense - it does not represent who I am - and damage control to get back some of his followers or at least the good grace of Becca’s loyslaty and her fans.
2. The offensive likes are only a portion of what was exposed and those are what blew the lid off after the arm dealer link and the Tomi Lahren follow were first identified and questioned. His general SM history was in large part showing values that are diametrically opposed to those of Becca ( at least as she portrays herself on SM )
3. In general, he seemed like a traditional ‘frat boy’ who is not aware or sensitive to different ways of being or thinking and whose instinctive reaction is to lash out or laugh at people or things that are
considered outside his narrow idea of the norm.
4. I was eager to see how he would present himself on the show and I did not like what I saw on night one, and felt he was using ridiculous, like 5th grade level humor in his intro and thought he looked immature and trying to hard to please. I know some of it is staged or manipulated by TPTB or editing, but so far anyway, he did not strike me as a serious, confident man who has his ***$ together, but more the model of an insecure guy who is covering his flaws with stupid humor and jokes.

5. I am pretty sure that this SM crisis he got thrown in, was totally unexpected in scope and magnitude and he must feel a certain degree of shame, doubt or at least questioning if he has any degree of self awareness. How he will now respond to the projection that he created out there, remains to be seen. how he will grow or change is up to HIM and how much willingness he has to open up to the challenges that faces him with regards to Becca and the world at large now that he is a public future in some way.
6.I am not holding my breath that anything really vastly different in his outlook will happen in the coming weeks. I still have my own doubts, independent from all this, but supported by my reading of his Astro profile, tha he has a long way - a few years at least - of growing up to do, with or without Becca.
7. I also still see major clashes and conflicts from a basic compatibility level between them and that is not an easy place to start a relationship. Even more when it is scrutinized on national TV.
8. Good luck ! He certainly was instrumental, in a weird way, in bringing out in the open conversations that are really important and timely.

There’re people who cheat and have affairs, serial killers with families and they still didn’t know what they were up to. Yes, there are people who can pretend to be perfectly lovely and still do heinous stuff.

Garrett made his excuse. I however am not inclined to make any for him. He knew what he was doing as he does now.

@Idlemess Ha one of my most favorite comments is the first thing that’s said about a person who has perpetrated something awful is those that knew him said he/she was so nice!
Nice. Eh. That’s one of the most neutral positive imo.
