As they should. They claim in their disclaimer they know the end result so they'd have to refund to not get backlash.
@Sundy yes the high bets were a definite clue.
Also props to @Bobette @Storybook and everyone who was sleuthing Sportsbet before the season started and saying he picked no one! And to catching that "picks no one" when they posted it for a short while (I bet they took it down because Ten asked them to).
Sportsbet knows more than even media and that to me shows me they are in bed with TEN (I gather DM concluded a winner based on return flight of Britt but didn't count for Ten having her return later on purpose probably )
Sportsbet has now proven they are in "the know"

I've been thinking more about the $1000 limit.
IMO this was actually a very cunning move by Sportsbet. With Britt's name being thrown around so heavily as the winner, people would have probably been pretty confident placing $1000 bets, thinking they would get a modest return. They might not have bothered if the limit were $50-$100 since the potential return would be so small.
When Nick chose no one, punters would have been temporarily outraged! Then when bets were refunded shortly after, Sportsbet look like champs. BUT, the advantage for SB is that the money has now become part of their system, and IMO punters are more likely to use that money to place other bets, rather than withdraw it from their accounts.
The house always wins.

Some punters did indeed place $1000 bets and are trying to get a payout on a dead heat technicality.
This call was made at 3:59pm “Dead heat rules apply, the odds get halved” got Sophie at $3.75, still waiting for my $1.87 pay out @sportsbetcomau, please don’t insult me with offering me a $10 bonus bet when I staked $1000 #whatajoke pic.twitter.com/LbSkngSRKz

Others questioning why no winner was not an option.
Why wasn’t the option of no winners available to punters?

To take bets for a ‘pre-determined’ event, and not allow the punters the option of betting on the outcome that actually eventuated seems like an absolute rort!!!

Wouldn't be surprised if they include it as an option for future seasons, even if it never happens again (more money for SB since people might take a bet out on that option "just in case")

Chris would never do it though, surely? @Sundy could you please check max bet for the hot doc when you get chance?
They're cheeky buggers for putting Brooke on the list. I don't think any of these would be real contenders, would they?
