Yes, it’s an ad. What I think makes it funny is that Wells posted an ad for the same product... but with Dean. It reminded me of how Nick and Wells did impersonations of each other on BIP and of how they both have cooking with IG highlights. Their friendship has a great playful rivalry aspect - 2 pranksters.

John and Julia are both part of Spotfund. John tagged Nick during the Cali wildfires in a fund post. Spotfund links philanthropists to charities so, as Nick said in his interview with Dan Cox, once Natural Habits reaches a certain sales point they plan to have a charitable component. In a very old interview Nick talked about the 1-1-1  model Salesforce uses and how great he though it was so I wouldn’t be surprised if his company adopts it - basically a percent of monthly sales goes to charity plus a few hours per month is paid time for employees to volunteer at a charity of their choice.

People are naming every bachelor gal Nick has come in contact with as the one that got away in the “questions with Nick” but it seems more likely it would be maybe someone pre-Bachelor during his 20s. Hr’s definitely having fun keeping them guessing

Yep, it’s a fun game.  
Nick is consistent in his belief that there is no value in returning to an ex. He’s repeated this in answering people’s questions about themselves in his q&a. IMO he isn’t referring to anyone he’s dated on shows. 
The one that got away is a fishing term - nibble but no bite - so my guess is someone he was never in a relationship with perhaps due to hesitation or timing or some other factor. Since she got away that means she isn’t available anyway so it becomes about lesson learned. It could be why he encourages people to shoot your shot and why he himself adopts that attitude in the present. The past can be learned from but that lesson applies to doing things differently with someone new. (The exception would be if she becomes available). In various podcasts he has stressed the importance of meeting as soon as possible which kinda backs my theory.
