They have a cute video up, telling their parents about the new baby on the way.
At the end of the video, Lauren is having an ultrasound, and Arie is heard saying, "No way!". Then the video says, "Part 2 coming 12/21".
Twins? Gender?  TBD!!

She says "what"? and Arie says "no way".

I'm going to guess it's a boy?

I can understand how anxious she is, hopefully her sickness will go away and she can enjoy her pregnancy.

Towards the end of the video when Lauren is explaining that she feels that she has had a little PTSD with the miscarriage and a few freak outs along the way of this pregnancy she said she's felt oh my gosh "are they ok?" not is the baby ok. I think it's twins.

Yes! I caught that too but then forgot when I posted. I watched the vid then got sidetracked for a bit before I posted! IA! I wonder if there are twins on either side.

Arie has identical twin brothers, Alec and Luca. But it's fraternal that runs in the family, no?

Fraternal twins are what runs in families not identical.

It would still be interesting if they had twins knowing that Arie grew up with twin brothers. It would probably feel familiar to him.

Excited for them and waiting to see what else is coming in Part 2! That old saying "Be careful what you wish for" might really be true for them, if it's twins.

I will admit, I googled a refresher on twins! Fraternal twins are two eggs released by the mother and identical twins are one egg splits into two which I knew. What I didn't know is it has nothing to do with the father. His role is to determine the sex whether an X or Y sperm fertilized the egg. I guess I just never had the need to discuss this! I was wrong to wonder if twins were on Arie's side.

It's more likely to be fraternal twins if that runs in Lauren's side of the family.

Alrighty then, that's my lesson for today.
