As far as Becca knew, there was no reason to believe Arie was ever going to end their engagement. The second week of January in mid week (Jan 10th on her IG), Becca was in Las Vegas for work. After this Vegas work trip, that weekend was a scheduled Happy Couple with Arie in LA. This was a planned regular meet up, but SOMEBODY, either Arie or producers or both, lied to her and told Becca they were being filmed because they wanted to give the fans an update on their relationship to be shown later. This is when Arie, with cameras in tow, broke up with Becca and ended the engagement.

That's what I had suspected, that they told Becca it would be for a fun update. The producers would want her raw response. Mills even alluded to this in an interview, saying it was difficult (yeah, sure) for them to determine what to keep private and what to film, but they want their viewers to follow the journey, when talking about the twist.

Lauren/Arie being engaged, when they both have broken engagements (including one that ended 6 weeks ago) tells me that these are the two biggest idiots to ever come on the show. Good luck to Lauren. She actually seems like a genuine, sweet girl and she's getting played here. At least Becca will get a bunch of hot guys chasing her all over the world out of this...she gets nothing IMO.

Becca gets her own love story and I am here for it. No doubt they will manipulate her and her suitors as well but at least she may end up with a man who loves her and wants to try.

I can’t even feel bad for Lauren at this point. The fact she willingly said yes to a proposal from a man who rejected her first and just broke up his last engagement six weeks ago is mind blowing. Altleast Jason and Molly had sense to make it in the real world for a bit before an engagement. JMHO

This isn't surprising as it was sleuthed the break up was possibly filmed since no way would they not want to film it. The only way to do that is to pretend it's a SHV, just as we sleuthed as well as the timing of it, being when Becca returned from Vegas. This was all sleuthed and speculated to happen the way it did.

Not surprised in the least. I never doubted there were no other SHV's after Dec 8th. That relationship was well over by that time IMHO if there even was a relationship. They will do whatever it takes to make it dramatic and could care less of anyone's feelings. We've seen that time and time again.

^^ of course, no one is surprised that the producers did this. It's the fact that Arie, who has never given an ish about his contract and has proudly broken ever rule, did this to his fiancé. He's a sh*t person. IMO.

@Aria sure he is. So is every other single lead in this franchise, TB or the 'tte for the things they have done to their F2's IMO. Not to mention getting down on one knee to propose, and stopping them mid sentence, two ILY's and on and on.

You either play the role or you are a JPG IMHO. That's the choice when they sign on that dotted line.

This is a very disgusting thing from Arie but I think a couple of people in this forum were already expecting this, so this really is very meh news. JMO

Oh, JPG is going to seem beloved compared to Arie. Especially since Becca is likely the Bachelorette? Yeah, they're going to make Jason, Brad, Juan Pablo, Ben F. All look like saints in comparison to Arie. They're going to screw him over like no other lead has been screwed. It's cute that Arie doesn't realize that and is still getting angry over misleading ILY promos. IMO.

To me something is wrong and doesn't make sense, there is a clip in the preview of Becca in a jean jacket talking about Arie's feelings about Lauren, doesn't look like something she would be wearing in LA.

After the way Arie and TPTB played her, I hope that Becca says no to the 'ette role.  If she accepts, I hope she knows what she is dealing with -- no deer in the headlights this time.
