At least for me, that’s not the case. I think it’s pretty clear he cares for Becca. I think he seems to admire and appreciate who she is as a person, what she has to offer, and how steady she’s been for him. There clearly are feelings there and I can understand why he chose her, especially since it appears Lauren’s fear and push and pull with him continues until the end.

With that being said, do I think he seems more drawn to Lauren and appears to be the contestant while she’s the lead? Yes. Do I think perhaps he realized pretty quickly post filming that he was more so in love with the idea of Becca than he was with her? Yes.

It’s all going to be very interesting to see how it ends. All JMO

The Episode description for the next episode says:

Lauren B., who has struggled to find love with Arie, needs more reassurance from him. Preoccupied with thoughts of the other two women vying for Arie’s heart and scared to have her own heart broken, the guarded blond beauty has trouble enjoying the panoramic plane tour of the Nazca Lines. Back on the ground, Lauren B. drops a bombshell. That night, Arie convinces his once skeptical date of his true feelings in an extremely emotional declaration.

I have a feeling that Lauren's statement that she doesn't know if she can do it any more is the bombshell she drops in "Back on the ground, Lauren B. drops a bombshell." But the rest of the description "That night, Arie convinces his once skeptical date of his true feelings in an extremely emotional declaration." is NOT shown in the preview.

However, if Lauren leaves before the FRC that would certainly explain what has been (to me) the great mystery of why he picked Becca after chasing Lauren all show.

What you say could very well be true, however, it is also possible IMO that Becca was too available and Arie likes the chase.

@Sprite yup, entirely possible. I’m not in his head, so I wouldn’t know. Not sure we’ll ever really know, unless he has a long lasting relationship with Lauren, but I’m not sure of that we’ll have to wait and see.

Hopefully it works out for all involved, especially Becca and Lauren.

IA @Ash2214 I don't know much of what's being said outside of this forum, however me and other's have always suspected there was something there with Lauren, before they started shoving it in our faces. Plus I never let spoilers sway me. Sleuth till the end is my motto. Becca getting the first one on one is when I started getting suspicious and kept a close eye on Lauren when the show premiered.

I think he definitely likes the chase, likes having what he can't have. It explains why he asked Jacqueline to come back, when she made the decision to leave him, or why he went after Emily, when she was engaged to another man. IMO.

It could be he was left with choosing Becca and her ex gave him the idea to go get his girl. Now that would be like CH said "Phenomenon". It pretty clear to me who his choice is already but as Lauren's dad said, she has to choose him. So there's where the problem lays not him loving a chase. We wouldn't have had a switcheroo. JMO

Here’s what Arie said when Becca’s Ex showed up. Could be edited or not.
“It’s just blowing my mind that he’s here. It’s f*****g upsetting. Right now, I’m angry. I’m angry that he’s here. And I’ve had my heart ripped open, and I don’t know how this is going to end.”

This shows Arie could have turned “the chase” towards Becca . Or did he already make up his mind and this was the wrinkle in his plans. As a racer , he’s used to aiming for the finish line and it seems like so much crash and burn mentality was all around him. If Lauren backed out, he could have worn from easing her constant fears. Jmo.

Or he could be saying: "And I’ve had my heart ripped open, and I don’t know how this is going to end.”  in reference to whatever bombshell supposedly Lauren drops on him. The viewer does not know the timing of when Becca's ex shows up. If it is after both dates, that quote could make sense about Lauren and Becca. The first part: “It’s just blowing my mind that he’s here. It’s f*****g upsetting. Right now, I’m angry. I’m angry that he’s here." referring to Becca and the second part of that quote to Lauren.

@Kashathediva IA my heart ripped open doesn't fit with the ex's appearance.

He could also be flippin mad because he knows he just got snowed by TPTB by having an ex show up.

Can I ask why you kept an eye on Lauren when the show premiered? She came in in a lump of Laurens and I know on the unspoiled side we thought she was just a MOT since they pretty much skipped over her at the start. It wasn't until a few episodes in that we even figured out who she was amongst the slew of blondes.
