I think at this point, Arie could choose his final TWO and only have the last few dates with them.

IMO, his heart is in the thrill of the chase.  When he's won, he looses interest and moves on.  

His words and emotions or lack there of, just don't match.... I just can't... Back to the Olympics I go.

I'm glad someone (besides me) came to this opinion. (BTW - my wife didn't get it - I had to explain it to her).

Another possibility is that Arie wanted to check with a producer to find out how far he could go to reciprocate what she said to him before he said anything.

Arie has got to be the most boring AF man they've ever cast as the Bachelor IMO and I sat through Ben Higgins and Farmer Chris.
