Bachelor Canada - Season 3 - Chris Leroux - Episode Discussion - *Sleuthing Spoilers* - #2

Well I'm almost convinced that Lyndsey is the one his heart is wanting and she is the one he picks , they definitely have a great connection and seems that they can talk through there obstacles they are facing which does say a lot imo. But Chris is hard to read with his head going in different directions but I think the editing does not help. Bits and pieces gets frustrating when your trying to figure him out but that's why the show keeps you wanting to watch.

You know, when we think about "opposite attracts"?

I think this is exactly what Lindsey was for him. She represented the dream he wanted to be part. Young, free spirit, happy to live the moment, in love with nature and music, a bit ethereal, full of dreams...

IMO, she represented the person he would have loved to be 13 years earlier but did not. In the bach bubble, it was easy for him to put aside reality... but when hometown showed up with her family disapproval. All the things he thought he could resolve by moving in Vancouver maybe, became a reality check.

it is hard to let go a dream. He reminds me of this kid who wish to become an astronaut, dream about it, is infatuated about the idea... until he finds his true path. Some rare do achieve to become an astronaut, but reality is rarely.

Hometown was his reality check. He knew that Lindsey was not his soulmate. he had nothing in common with her: her lifestyle added to this free spirit he loved so much would be difficult to keep up long term. Few years, maybe. although I am thinking more in terms of months.... until he would pressure her to settle down, to have babies and marriage.... he would have caged a bird. pretty lovely bird who could be happy only with her freedom.

When we look at Lindsey IG. She adores hikes in woods, in mountains, with her dog tagging her, stopping at little critters. She is one with nature. This is her oxygen. She also loves her music, reminds me of the 60s with her guitar, peace and love attitude.

So yes. he was infatuated about the idea of being able to live this life. But hometown gave him the slap on his face that it was a lovely dream where he had nothing in common and long term would probably be not forever.

Comes Mikaela from the start here, yet on the side of his mind.

Mikaela represent his real life the concrete girl that he can be with 50 years from now. she is funny, she is beautiful, she is positive and kind, she is a best friend then brings physical passion, she is affectionate, loves her family, want kids and marriage. she has everything on his check list. he probably knows she is her true soulmate. But the little part inside him missing was too scared to think that he could pass something he may regret later... but when he realized that he was probably loosing Mikaela... this is when he could not handle the conflict and had this break down. he knew who was best for him and was mourning his dream...

BUT he is like the phenix. he knows that flying to the sun will kill him (metaphore) and know already the consequences, so tempted to live a 60s lifestyle and all with a young free petulant beautiful girl, still he wants to touch the sun.... but know deep down it is a mistake. He wanted this dream so much that everything was put aside ..... He thought he made his peace with all those things but they brought it back to the surface.... because it was never solved, he decided to erase all the obstacle as if they were okay to override them.... which were still very much present.

I think Chris was depressed, lonely and lost when he ended his baseball carer on a sour note. He was bored, not knowing what to do of his life. He said that he loves not knowing what to do every day, hate boring... but after he left baseball, this is what he got... a boring lonely life. Lindsey was a the free beautiful spirit he wanted so much to free him of his boring life.... and somehow put Mikaela in the "boring category" because she is more grounded with her own carer, her drive.

and for me, fantasy dates, was the time, he came out of the fantasy and reality caught up. Dreaming to become an astronaut at 33 was probably not his path of happiness long term. I have no doubt they would both be happy together.... until they didn't.

I will also add that after reading lindsey's blog... I believe she was on a rebound or just ended her 2 years self reflexion after her break up when she went on the bachelor. She confirmed it saying that she did expect to come back quickly to Vancouver. She wanted adventure but got cought up with the guy "who made her fell good". After her cheating ex, it was sure something really nice to feel. She also got caught up in the bach bubble where everyone think everything is possible after they go back to reality. And why not? The guy was ready to take all the risks and move in Vancouver for her... To have a devoted man, handsome, kind, etc... is something every woman would be ecstatic to have IMO ... I am not sure she realized how much different they were because IMO he gave her all the vibes that her life was his dream to have.

This is my reflexion. Of course, I have nothing solid to confirm this..... I met this 3 "people" in real life and it reminds me so much of them... at the end "my" Chris picked his "Lindsey" and broke up after 4 years after a passionate relationship with fights, chris trying to cage the other one and bedroom make up (confidence of my friend of course), both being extremely miserable during until the end, although their "honeymoon" time were kinda extraordinary (mostly travels). Chris did find his "Mikaela" and  they are still together after 25 years...

That could be true your reflection but I do see Lyndsey wanting a soulmate a person to spend her life with and wanting kids. They could balance both kids , careers love works in mysterious ways and sometimes we don't see or feel what other people feel and how they make a great couple. But it can also be said for mikaela as well , but I'm excited to see the end no matter which way it goes. I think everyone brings lots to the table but dang if we could read there minds that may solve some questions. But then we wouldn't have a show either something to look forward to in the middle of the boring Wednesday night just before the weekend.

i really do not think chris was her soulmate. She will indeed wants kids along the way and probably have a similar family as the one she was raised in. But not now.

she is a beautiful girl but she needs a person who will understand her need of hiking, music around a camp fire, adventure and freedom.... not once per year during vacation.... on a way more weekly/monthly basis kinda.... so anyone who would understand that and keep up with this, would be her person

I do not think Chris would be, even if for him being in good shape would resolve the physicial aspect, the spiritual would IMO not be possible long term.

you know when you want something that you know it is not good for you but you still want it with a despair until you finally realize it is better to be without after a while and realized also that you had exactly what you were looking for but too blind to see it next to you?

that is exactly how I see Chris.

ETA: soulmate and bachelor somehow looks laughable.... I would more think in terms of compatibility to make it work in the real world

That probably was my favourite episode of the whole season. so many feelings.. I cried so much when Chris was talking to his mum at the end....

oh dear IMO you can see his struggle with wanting to choose Lydnsey but all the obstacles seem to really be bothering him and something i think if the spoilers are correct he cannot get over...

@LeapofFaith my thoughts exactly.

I think Mikaela even set the ending up right.  She didn't think that he could get from where he was with her and to be in love with her enough for them to be together in the end.  She also set up the ending of her being alone and a F2 with the statement that she wants someone that can commit and is in love with her as that's what she deserves.  When you combine those thoughts / statements, IMO that is leading things away from her being with Chris in the finale.  


IMO, that's not Chris.  He's far more in love with Lyndsey.  He's far more towards the end game with Lyndsey than he can get to with Mikaela in the time they have left.

With their conversation - Chris and Lyndsey - Chris knew full well that he'd be making the allowances if he was to be with her.  He'd move to Vancouver and he even said himself that he thought Vancouver was a nice place so IMO, the setup is there for the two of them to be there together.....  His parents set that up perfectly.  With the dad, the geographical card was solved by saying that Chris can make allowances for it.  With the part of the age / letting his heart fall completely, the mom set that one up.  IMO, there really aren't things set up for Mikaela as the F1 right now as IMO, there is way too much of a gap when you consider the emotions, or lack there of for Chris to be all in with Mikaela.

IMO what I can see happening(and from the no FRC pics of dresses, etc) IMO, the crying pic of Mikaela is possibly her being let go before the FRC.

Then to bring this pic back into this again.  IMO since we never saw this one during the MTP time(it was suspected to come from then based on drama with her meeting Chris's parents and it obviously wasn't), I am wondering if it is when Chris may let Mikaela go ahead of the RC.  I know that it has been speculated otherwise, but IMO, I do see something dark in her hands.  I don't see a reason for her to be looking so intently into her hands if there isn't something there.  Now with the dark ring box, IMO, it could very well be it in her hands and Chris has given it back to her as he said goodbye.  IMO, there would be no way that he would keep the said ring if he broke things off with Mikaela.

I know that it has been speculated that there may be something in her hands (me included)when she is crying.  I see that the position that her hands is in is un-natural if that ISN'T the case.  Meaning, I am seriously wondering if Chris gave her back the ring box when he sent her home.

With the bolded, I remember in epi 5 baseball date, even Lyndsey was saying how she can see her future with Chris. Him being the baseball coach dad and her being the doting baseball mom. During the MTP, Lyndsey was also setting up her career as she can do it from home. IMO, that can relate to her being a mom AND having a career.

awwe thank you for remembering this .... it also took me a while to sleuth this and it means a lot that someone noticed

agree. as much as he wanted it to be Lindsey, he realized IMO that he could not overcome all the issues (re: his last words about it)... In that Roz was right. Hometown broke his dream of dreamed life with Lindsey and he never recovered.

It is kinda sad for Mikaela and I understand why she did not to watch those episodes. This makes me believe that she is with him now. They worked on this, solved their issues and not watching IMO means that she is not ready to re-open wounds. done, past, moved on.

But she also could be single and does not want to go thru this part again

He's never watched.

My husband feels that he shouldn’t be with either girl! Lol!!

One, he has no chemistry with and the other is at a different stage in life.

That’s his perspective...cut and dry! Haha!

It's sad for Chris too. It's obvious, to me, that he liked both in different ways.

IMO, excellent insights, well said, HEA. Here’s hoping Chris is smart and mature enough not to follow this dream over. the edge to wind up having to see just how free Lyndsey is, IMO. Life with her and her family could be the very painful hell he has tried so hard to avoid his whole life and I believe he knows it. Still, I don’t want him to choose Mikaela unless he is sure because she deserves the best . JMO.

@Chgohighlife I agree.

and maybe chris and mikaela realized they were not meant to be together. As I said we have tons of options after the finale. We have to keep in mind that bachelor is just a dating plateform for a guy to find potentially someome but even if 20 girls show up, he generally has 2 real choices.

2.............. that is not a heck of a lot of choice IMO... how many people do we meet around us, before we decide that this one person is the one. here he has no choice but 2 and know them a few dozen of hours in front of cameras..... sorry but the odds that it works outside in real word are really thin once you know this person better, alone.
