Bachelor Canada - Season 3 - Chris Leroux - Episode Discussion - *Sleuthing Spoilers* - #2

I was making my comments simply based on the videos posted.  As I said based on what Chris said to both women I would say Lyndsey would win. But I am not saying she will.

BTW.... I am not sure how SC can lie since they are part of the video

I think there may be 3 scenarios:

1. The producers are showing us what happened to them. He admitted to her that this was real to him and he's was putting all his chips on her. His fear was that when he's 36 and she's 26, she would say "see yah"....understandably. Maybe it hit him that this is a real possibility so he backs off.

2. After hometowns, Lyndsey's family really voiced their concern and got her thinking. Then she drops the bomb. So picking Michaela as "default" ends up happening which could explain why they broke up 1 week after they got home (RS spoiler).

3. (And, this one is more of a jaded perspective) He mentioned, during the show that he let people go because he felt that they weren't there for the "right reason" (cough, how about you Chris?...). It got me thinking ...who would benefit professionally, of the final 2, from being there? Michaela. No shade to her ( I hope that I'm using the terminology correctly). She's smart to find an avenue to promote herself and her business. Of course, we never hear those conversations on the show....and again explains RS spoiler...no hard feelings from either of them.

I'll be watching to see his reaction when Lyndsey tells him that she's not ready. If he closes off then, to me, it means that he's protecting himself or he wasn't ready for a commitment either. If he breaks down, then Lyndsey was his F1.

It should be interesting to see how this all plays out.

I definitely think Lynsdey is a frontrunner for Chris but I can see in his body language that their relationship has cooled a bit.

And where Mikaela acts too confident, Lydnsey acts too insecure for someone getting the reassurance an F1 usually gets at this point.

the 4th scenario is like he said during his interview: for him it it was quite obvious

traduction: he feel in love with mikaela early on

trying to involve lindsey in their break up OR his finale choice is IMO a way to say that mikaela was never an option.

Every option are possible, i agree. but for me it is as if every break up each bach franchise went thru was because the lead could not let go of his F2..... it may be very comforting to think so for F2 fans but I do not think so this is what happened.

lets not forget ben and jojo...

at this point, i think the lead have multiple love declaration and he is tired and overwhelmed by them. I think the lead is very aware that nobody know each other well. But for Chris I see another reason, I see that he is a nice guy, I see he did not want to hurt the girls' feeling. I see a guy embarrassed who probably asked the crew to give him pre-made sentence and help him to answer certain question. So yes, he looked not genuine at times and this is why IMO he repeated the same words.

however.... what I understood by "I need to sort it out my heart before I say the words that Mikaela wants to hear" (did we ever hear that about lindsey at all BTW???) ... for me the translation of this is: I need time to process, eliminate my doubts and fear, make sure I do not make a mistake that Lindsey is not the one ..... then I will tell her the words

I never deny he was attracted to Lindsey but for me, he thought he wanted a lindsey.... you are just like me, awkward etc.... when in fact he found out he did not... big revelation that he needed to process

I didn't watch the Ben and Jojo one. I remember seeing Ben on some kind of TV show with his F1. Heard that they broke up but, at least, they made some money off their connection for a while.

I only watched Jasmine's season and I felt she had both the physical and emotional attraction to Kevin. That's what I remember anyway :S

The issue with jasmine is not the connection. everyone IMO could see she was attracted to him. The issue is that (again IMO) is that most people did not like him and found him too cocky versus a sweet Mikhel. (was a Mikhel fan BTW).

For me, every lead care a lot about their top 2. they know who then want but they have the delicate situation where they need to fake until the finale. I never trusted that they had the big reveal clarity the day before the finale.... they are contracted to fake and say things until the finale.... the love declaration during finale is always clear: I fell in love with someone else..... and this does not happen overnight

I can make hundred of SC anyway... i do not think it will matter anyway. but for me it is like comparing oranges and apples.

for me, lindsey wanted him to say that she is the one... and he tried his best to tell her enough to ease her because AGAIN he is contracted to bring 3 girls at hometown. Did he want to go meet her family? who knows. Nothing in this conversation told me the : I am ONLY afraid that your family will not like me.

Well, I hope that this is the case here with Michaela and Chris cuz it would be really disappointing if they broke up right after.

in my opinion they tried too. one week is the exaggeration of someone who just want to make fun of a situation

IMO there is doubt on Chris's feelings for Mikaela. How this pans out I don't know (but supposedly Reality Steve does). If Lyndsey does not win then I believe it is not Chris who rejects her. And I have to agree with @Bobette's theory.

Chris has no choice in the matter but to choose 3 girls for hometown... do we think that he would say to lindsey: hey girl, I am sorry but I am interested with only one girl from now on............... OF COURSE he needed to re-insure lindsey (again). He is not the first lead to lie to the contestants and won't be the last.

I am ONLY afraid that your family may not like me............. only... that means IMO, he already made up his mind that he WILL meet her family. no if here. He is projecting to the future.

with lindsey, he had the same kind of language with catie and kait: i give the rose to the girl I can project myself in the next 50 years with................ do we really think catie is a valid F1. I doubt it.

If we criticize is pre made words to the girls, IMO, we must look at them in a whole and add his BL with them. Some can say with a mean face ILY or someone can say ILY with puppy eyes.. same but different IMO

it is 2 TIMES now that chris says:  I am afraid to fall in love with mickaela as there are other girls I care immensely too (not verbatim but almost similar)

it is MIKAELA versus THE OTHER GIRLS.... 2 times

I need to clear up my heart BEFORE saying the words that MIKAELA wants to hear....... not lindsey, not catie, not stacy..... specifically Mikaela.

I am totally convinced that Mikaela was never ever a second choice. He made his choice a long time ago and someone had to fill in the F2 position like always

That's how I see it too @HEA. With Mik, Chris isn't questioning whether to go meet her family--He already knows he wants to go, his mind is made up already and just anxious about making a good impression. To me that's normal --worrying about whether the family will like him because he wants this relationship to work. If they don't it could ruin it for him (imo)
In seasons past Leads have said it to their F1 : "I really wanna meet your family", "will your family like me ?' :"who am I meeting?"...
With Lyn, It looks like she is trying to plead her case--trying to secure a HTD.(IMO). & to me it looks like they are still stuck in the age issue. Him saying He only wants to
go if he can see a future with her..This sounds ,to me at least, like he is still not sure. If she is his F1, that convo in Epi 7 would be troubling . JMO

I also think that Mik. wasn't 2nd choice at all. If Lyn leaves it will be because she finally saw that He was not hers (like she said) and that he had stronger connection with Mik. and if Mik & Chris broke up , I'm more inclined to think it was because he couldn't let his walls down. He said so himself that has never really been in love and has never given anyone a real chance. It sounds like he doesn't know how to love--(*his mother comforting him and telling not to be afraid to love---) So far Mik is the only one Chris has referred to in connection with Love.
Someone has to be F2 and it has to be a convincing contender for the show to work. Chris & Lyn remind me of Zac & Lily's story
