Re: Love Island - Australia - Media SM - *Sleuthing Spoilers*
Not sure why they had to get someone from the UK and seems like a bit of a douche but NEVER MIND STILL EXCITING!
Love Island Australia's first hunk revealed! UK-based socialite Lewis Heeks 'tipped to appear on Nine's racy new dating show'
It's the upcoming reality show that is set to take on Ten's Bachelor In Paradise in the battle for prime-time ratings next year.
And Love Island Australia is shaping up to be a favourite among female fans thanks to the rumoured casting of hunky socialite Lewis Heeks.
According to Woman's Day, the curly-haired lothario has all the makings of a Love Island star thanks to his celebrity connections and party-going lifestyle.
'Insiders say producers already have their eye on Lewis Heeks, a well-connected Aussie living in the UK,' the publication reported this Monday.
Indeed, Lewis has been snapped partying with a slew of famous faces, including The Only Way Is Essex's Lewis Bloor and Joey Essex.
He was also spotted posing with actress Nina Dobrev in a recent Instagram snap.
While it's unclear how many contestants are set to appear on Love Island Australia next year, host Sophie Monk has provided some insight into the types of people producers are hoping to cast.
'It is a young group of people from 18-35 who are going to hook up on an island and they have got to try and last,' the blonde bombshell told Today last month.
'You can vote them out if you don't believe they are in love. At the end there is a lot of money and the couple either split it or one person takes it,' she explained.
'So Australia kind of choose who is really in love. They send in intruders. It is exciting.'
The UK version of Love Island is notorious for its lustful hook-ups and sexual activities, which Sophie acknowledged before joking 'I'm gonna be the classiest one on there.'
Sophie's career has been reinvigorated in recent months thanks to her new role on Channel Ten's The Bachelorette.

Filming location will apparently be Majorca, Spain. This is the same location they filmed Love Island UK. NICE.

The application page has a pic of a Villa which looks like the one from the UK show - thy might use the exact same place?

Sophie said she is "back at work" for Love Island as of last week (12th Feb). What that "work" entails is not exactly clear.

There is now a LI page on 9Now, where you can also watch seasons 1 & 2 of the UK show if you're in AU or have a VPN.

There was a launch party for the show last week. Slide show Here.
No idea if any of the people pictured are potential contestants or not but thought it was worth logging.
Nine's head of content says commissioning the show was a "massive risk".
At the launch, Swift described it as a show which captures “all of the things” Nine does.
“At the heart is this fantastic building, The Villa, which is a little like The Block. There’s all that fabulous heartfelt drama, chaos and tension, a little bit like Married At First Sight. It’s got a fantastic voiceover, not unlike Hamish & Andy, but best of all it’s got all the abs of Ninja. We think it’s a show that genuinely embodies everything we do and a lot more,” he told the audience.
Adding to this, Swift confirmed to Mumbrella that Nine would not change the format of the show for the Australian audience.
“We’ve sat with the UK market. It took them three series. Their first series was a mild success, their second series was a moderate hit, their third series went absolutely totally gangbusters that no one, the producers, the ad sales department, the people printing the t-shirts could keep up with it. That’s the series we are effectively taking on here,” he said.
“It’s a beautiful example of a hard core dating show with hotter people than you’ve ever seen in your life, somewhere you really want to go. What could possibly go wrong?”
While Swift would not confirm the length, frequency or cost of the new series, he did admit it wasn’t a “badly priced format”.
“The reality is that by now, the way you shoot these shows, we’ve learnt so much.
“With all these things the cost comes in getting the right place. So getting the right villa has been massively expensive and complicated and getting the right talent will be a long, torturous process.”
When asked about expectations for the show in terms of audience numbers, Swift said he would be looking both the VPM (video player measurement) and 9Go numbers would be of value to him.
“The reality is we monetise really well on VPM. That’s just as important to us as linear broadcast. This is a show where you’ll be looking at every way people consume the show because we will be looking to advertisers to monetise the show on every platform.”
“I reckon it’ll be about 30% VPM, 30% broadcast and 40% the rest.”

'They're indicative of how good looking the cast will be': Channel Nine confirms that they used 'models and actors' in Love Island Australia trailer... but promises 'beautiful, sexy singles' on the actual show
We're less than a month away from the highly-anticipated premiere of Love Island Australia.
And when the show finally hits Channel Nine, it'll be full of 'beautiful, sexy singles' that could put the hotties on Ten's Bachelor franchise to shame.
While a recently released promotional trailer for the series starred 'models and actors,' Nine has told Daily Telegraph that they're 'indicative of how good-looking the cast of the series will be.'
While the network is still in the casting process for the 'Bachelor In Paradise meets Big Brother' style show, they told the publication that over 7000 hopefuls have applied already.
While the number pales in comparison to the 10,000 that applied for Married At First Sight's fifth season, or the 15,000 that applied for Australian Survivor's second season, it's still a lofty figure for a new show that has yet to air.
The UK version of the raunchy series is already incredibly popular Down Under, and is currently one of the most streamed shows on Nine's streaming service, 9now.
First look of the new TV series Love Island with Sophie Monk
Blonde bombshell Sophie Monk plays a sexy pilot in the teaser trailer and 'flies' the fake contestants to Spain, where the show is filmed.
'Hey babe, six weeks in the sun, you up for it?,' Sophie says to one hunky firefighter.
To a shirtless blond contestant, she says: 'Pack your bags handsome, the engines are running!'
'Welcome aboard you beautiful, sexy singles... we're heading to the hottest summer of your lives,' Sophie continues.
'Six steamy weeks in a luxury Spanish villa. Welcome to Love Island.'
Love Island Australia will premiere in mid-May.
