I think that horse emoji could mean a few things.
Obviously that she's a dark horse, or given the "Giddy up" maybe it could be like, "alright watch out for me, I'm coming through" (hopefully to the end).

After filming ends Matty and the winner go back to their lives as normal. They just can't be seen together in public so they get to see each other every couple of weeks for a few days for a SHV (Safe House Visit) which is arranged by the show and usually in a more remote location. Georgia and Lee for example lived in the same city but still had SHVs arranged and Lee would leave about 8 hours before Georgia and driven to a house outside the city (like an Air BnB, etc) and Georgia would arrive hours later and they would spend 3-4 days together (usually over a weekend) with just the two of them. I'd imagine the same for Matty and his F1 and as he has said they had a SHV and it was remote (no cell phone) etc.

For the Bach AU though, filming ended in May and the finale is in September so that's 4 months of separation where Matty and his F1 can only facetime, text, and meet every few weeks. So they barely see each other in that time. The Bette is a bit different because they finish filming in August and the finale is in October so only 2 months of separation and thus less time apart than Bach AU. So I am not sure how many SHVs Matty has already had with his F1. I think that info will be known post-show. Based on following his SM activity, I think he may be having them during the week if he is having them at all because he seems to be spotted in public on weekends for the season and/or on SM a lot.

Have their been any SM black outs between him and the proposed F2 (Elise and Laura)? That is, has there been a few days here and there where they have both been off SM at the same time.

Thanks heaps for the info I haven't looked properly but there seems to be a period from 26th (ig) & 27th (Twitter) that Elise does go off the radar then comes back on ig around 2nd aug. Noting here that she comes back with a pic of her in that beautiful gown she wore first night. Matty is off ig from 30th til 6th aug when he posts a pic with his mum.
Haven't checked out Laura's but looks like she was off a couple of days somewhere there too

Some random clips from last season Bachelor came up on my feed. I found this one super interesting because it literally has Alex saying something along the lines of Nikki is Richie chosen winner. I thought that was a really interesting red herring.

Obviously producers conditioned us very hard to believe the  dominant Nikki as F1 narrative. It just made me think about the Tweet from Wednesday were they draw attention to the music (classic F1 music) during Laura and Matty's kiss. It just feels all too obvious I dunno.

One of Matty earlier media promotion. We can only take it at face value as I believed he is told what to say:

What he will say is his decision was only made at the very end of the series — and it wasn’t love at first sight.

“Definitely on night one, I wasn’t like ‘that’s the person.’ It wasn’t that clear to me at all. It was something that over time developed. It took a number of dates before feelings started to get stronger...it was not until that very last moment where I did make that decision.”

If he is telling the truth, it can't be Laura.

IMO it can still be Laura, he will just say that his feelings grew over time and he wasn't just attracted to her at first sight (because that would make him look shallow/superficial).

IMO, leads always say something similar; they need to do so or the whole premise of the show falls flat. Then in post-show interviews, they admit it was that person all along.

I just remembered the first ever night and it was mentioned that Laura looks like Georgia Love, so "of course Matty was going to talk to her". I cant remember which girl said that.

There has been this whole Laura is the favourite right from the start even in the show.

Perhaps it's been a red herring all along???

Totally agree with this.  It's a traditional narrative device.  Matty absolutely has to suggest he didn't make up his mind until the end because otherwise too many people will consider it game over early on and won't continue watching, and the tension evaporates.  I would consider that sort of answer just "bach-speak".

I can't help but wonder why Matty had to reiterate the same story many times over and include the 'dark horse' twist . If it was a scripted, throwaway line why always mention it?
And IMO people thinking the game is over and Laura is the winner is exactly what has happened.

@Storybook. It also has perplexed me. I honestly believe that if he takes a dark horse to F2 and keeps her as F2 he will been seen as a bit of a hypocrite IMO. The only way I can see him wriggling out of it is by saying that he 100% didn't decide until after the LCDs.

He would have always have had the option IMO to take someone like Michael from Sam Frosts season to F2. JMHO

If Laura does eventuate as F1 then IMO Matty pushing the 'dark horse' plot line many times over (or the slow burn plot line, for that matter) will have been absolutely essential to keep people invested in watching until the end. Indeed, I can't imagine any other scenario that TPTB would have insisted on. If the rumours are true that Matty decided his favourite fairly early on and found it hard to hide his feelings, then TPTB would have had no choice but to insist Matty plug those alternative plot lines at every media opportunity he felt he could say it. Of course, by the same token, if Laura is [i]not[i] F1, then plugging those plot lines will have simply been a message to the audience to hang in there for their favourite. JMO.
