IMO peter would not be the first to act their way to the next lead nor last. And we have seen some horrible auditions. And had to suffer for it all of the next season and beyond.
He is not interesting to me. the only thing he's got going on is his deep voice and his body perhaps. Not sure that can sustain and entire season.
Jmo.

^^^ I thought so too @AAL. It really felt like they all said/did just enough to push Peter to the next round

@suzq TA
Tptb go to any level. Why did Rachel participate ??? It was painful and sad. I felt bad for both men for being put in that position.
That's why I hate the HTDs. The families are not the ones that chose to be on the show. Very sad.

Fare warning, this is a RANT
...while I completely agree that the forum for Dean's conversation with his dad may not have been appropriate or ideal for the audience considering what show we're watching, I'm actually really happy it happened irrespective of when and how.
His father seemed like a lovely man, to be honest. And I think he's very aware of what happened to his family after his first wife passed. And does hold some degree of sorrow and accountability. But, speaking from experience (me as the Dean) it's really difficult to understand the separate and often solitary experience each person has when the matriarch dies. Each child handles it differently. My sisters and I rarely talk about how we coped individually. And children will never REALLY, IMO, understand what it's like to lose the presumed love of your life way before you're ready to.
JMO but we, as kids, expect our parents to be our parents until it makes chronological sense for them to die. So losing one to cancer and then feeling like you lost the other immediately after? That does create an unfathomable amount of tension. And, quite honestly, nobody wants to go back to that space... which is why I fully understand the fact that this conversation isn't one they've had in the 10+ years since Dean's mom passed away.
Yea, it was tough to watch. And yes, the added layer of unconventionally made it a target for mockery. But, I'm glad that this show, however produced, and Rachel--who he has endlessly thanked for being there throughout this--gave Dean the opportunity to get some of that out. (Steps off soapbox)

Maybe. I thought the comments from the mom were especially strange. Like he would be ready to start a family but not marriage? What? He's ready for commitment but not really?AllAboutLove wrote:Peter is doing just enough to get to the next step so he gets far enough to be the Bachelor, IMO. Even his family and friends all seemed like they were acting too. Felt totally forced and scripted looking to me.

I thought Peter not Bryan said he has missed her when she gave him the rose and she said she missed him too. I'll have to rewatch it.... probably six times!

I think he was nervous that he may be cut.

Sounds like Dean told her he loved her and Dean said she said she was falling (falling in love) with him too. What she said and what he heard may be different. Clearly, he was not expecting to be cut.

Yup. I do think he doesn't see forever with Rachel, but I think he's generally very commitment-phobic. Or marriage-phobic, as kids are a much bigger commitment than a piece of paper. I see him becoming Kiptyn 2.0 in the future, raising a kid with someone who is basically his roommate.

Re: Bachelorette 13 - Rachel Lindsay - Episode 8 - July 17 - *Sleuthing Spoilers*
That's exactly what I was meaning when I posted awhile back I think he has some issues. His whole spiel of how heartbroken he was about dumping/abandoning his girlfriend that he never even introduced to his family and then looking in the rearview mirror was once again making it all about Peter. The only person I think MePeter is in love with is himself. Just no to Peter as the BachelorSeabear wrote:IMO Peter has serious intimacy ISSUES. They only person he was into this season other than Himself was Dean. xoxo GG's. IMO.
Even though TPTB seem to have made Rachel drag Peter along because of his Bachelor edit....Please No Peter as the Bachelor.

Now I appreciate Brooks all the more for upping and leaving when he wasn't feeling it.
Peter on the other hand seems in it till as long as he can ! Jmo

TBH I've found Peter's behavior and words to be very strange this whole season and his words not matching his actions.BlackHalo wrote:Maybe. I've long felt there's something "off" about Peter and still think there is....
