Better news for ABC earlier in the night. The Bachelorette (1.6, 5.9M) was the night’s most watched program, inching up, week-to-week, in both metrics; the dating competition clocked its biggest crowd this season.

Rachel has already introduce a new audience to the show. As an older Bachelorette, with older suitors and also being a person of color they know Rachel season has the opportunity to bring in a new audience and the highest ratings of any bachelorette season.

While the NBA finals were viewed by a larger audience than the Bachelorette. This season of the Bachelorette has increased viewership by more than other shows.

The link provided pertains to Jojo's season  ( June 2016) which got an average of 1.97 rating in the 18-49 Demo group, same average rating with Kaitlyn's season. Season 11 & 12 has higher rating than both season 10 and 13. Rachel season rating so far has only an average of 1.66 in the same Demo group, way lower despite all the promotions and guesting of big celebrities. See below ratings for Season 11, 12 & 13.

‘The Bachelorette': Millennials are fleeing Rachel Lindsay’s season

In the 18-34 demographic's TV ratings, "The Bachelorette" is down 24 percent year over year, with a 1.9 versus last summer's 2.5. Among men of that age range, the decline is an even 25 percent, with women clocking in at minus 22 percent.

That means those born between 1983 and 1999 are departing the ABC series more than any other age range, right as we finally got our first African-American "Bachelorette." So much for our most progressive generation.
Elsewhere, Lindsay's season is currently down 15 percent from last year in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic, with a 2.2 average against its 2.6 benchmark.

“The Bachelorette” (8:00-10:00 p.m. – 5.7 million and 1.5/6 in AD18-49):
From 8:00-10:00 p.m., ABC’s “The Bachelorette: The Men Tell All” won its 2-hour slot over NBC’s “American Ninja Warrior” by 7% in Adults 18-49 (1.5/6 vs. 1.4/6) and dominated by 75% in Adults 18-34 (1.4/7 vs. 0.8/5).

“The Men Tell All” built over its year-ago telecast (on Tuesday, 7/26/16 from 9:00-11:00 p.m. = 5.1 million and 1.4/5) by 12% in Total Viewers and by 7% in Adults 18-49, respectively.
