Inflicting guilt, and making others feel sorry for him by stating that he stayed in a relationship that he knew wasn't good. His dating life has been affected because of the lies, that are hard "to keep hearing".

MM sticking up for the very same person she took the time to create fake ID's so she could trash her.

These people are sick. The lengths they go to, to make themselves look good, are worthy of psychiatric study to determine the cause of the illness. IMHO
