An unexpected lead and possibly someone new as lead won't surprise me at all. I actually think it would be smart on the part of TPTB to do that and thus eliminate any "campaigning" at all if they have an unexpected lead or someone new. 

Even though Rachel wasn't new, they did it in a way with Rachel herself by announcing her before she had even been eliminated so people got on board. Plus, with the Bach lead there's plenty of time for TPTB to wait even past BIP before they announce someone if they want to. Someone new may even go over well with audiences since I think most viewers have caught on to the campaigning contestants do that takes place and it getting old. 

Last year's Bette the edit seemed like one of the contestants was a shoe-in for the lead and yet that didn't happen so it may be that even with a Bach edit for one of the guys on Rachel's season that that person may not actually be the lead either so it will be something to look out for?  It will be interesting to see what happens if they do decide to do something different once again (like they did with choosing Nick and Rachel).

Personally, I don't think they'll deviate from using a prior season recycled lead very often IMO. Since they started that it's been so successful for them in building and keeping an audience. For me many Bachelor seasons I would have bowed out of I've only keep watching to get to know the next Ette. It's a marketing and viewer retention strategy that works IMO. I hope and think they'll stick with so I fully expect the Bachelor to be from Rachel's season. JMO.

I think they will take someone from Rachel's season.

I also expect the next lead to be from Rachel's season but looking at some possible options in regards to @carine's post for the possibility of something unexpected maybe taking place.

@reason I am not sure if they will announce early again and personally I don't think they will. I think it was a one-time thing with Rachel and I understand why they did it that way but the audience didn't care for it and I don't think they would like it if it happened again (not that TPTB would not do it the same again since they will do what they want). It will be interesting if they do announce early again though but since filming starts so much later for the Bach compared to Bette I am not sure what reason they would give to do so.

My speculation was also due to MF tweet it may not be anything much in the end but I cannot think of anything that will be shocking, the first thought was about the lead selection but could be something else I guess..

i would love if they searched for someone new and not someone who already had participated in the franchise, just because everything is so incestuous already. a breath of fresh air would be much welcomed by me.

i think they will choose from rachel's season, though.

i don't think they will announce early who will be the bachelor, since it is so long until filming would begin. rachel was announced only like a month before filming, which is fine with me (besides the spoiling) because it begins filming so much faster after the bachelor ends.

I wonder if it is a possibility of announcing it early IF the next lead is POC or an early departure....maybe announce it early to get people involved and interested????

Okay, just for fun, if none of Rachel's guys is the next bachelor, who do we like for it? I'm gonna go with Wells Adams. He's in his early 30s. Has a real job, two in fact as a radio host in Nashville. He appears to me to be a pretty nice guy and has the maturity and personality to carry a season. Despite his "moments" with Ashley I and Amanda, he did have a serious relationship. On the down side, he has the drunk tweets, but I think he is on the whole a respectful person, especially towards women. He is "nice" without being "vanilla" IMO. Who are you for?

love Wells and I'd love to see him find love but he seemed wayyy too overwhelmed with 3 women on bach in paradise giving him attention to do tb with 30 women sufficiently. I think being a male lead requires a particular type of mental strength to not be swept up in the pheromones and attention of it all and I'm not sure how Wells would keep his composure ...the high-pressure competitive vibe doesn't seem to suit him (in a very good way imo) I can see him building up a friendship into a relationship organically...maybe in a diff format i'd love to see him as tb

I would love to see coach osborne on this show as tb!!! still love his personality from back in Andi's season...he's one of the good ones.
