Nick has crazy potential if he gets out of his head. I think he should probably also stop watching the packages right before the dance. The one step he clearly messed up on the dance floor was the one he messed up in the rehearsal package as well.

It's a good thing cumulative scores weeks haven't started yet so next week will be a clean slate. I hope Peta eases on the choreography and they have a kickass performance. Fingers crossed!

Yes to simpler choreography. I love that Peta sees his potential and isn't content with him just coasting through the season standing and posing while she dances around him, but he needs a routine that he can really nail. I wonder when/if they'll get to do the jive? I feel like he'd be really good at that one. Or something with a little hip action.

It's frustrating to know Nick has great rhythm, yet the routine is just way too complicated with too much technical difficulty going on.  He's got to build up his confidence first. I loved Rashad's dance, didn't vote for him but loved it. It wasn't simple but it was no where near the technical difficulty Nick tried to pull off! Just give me a routine to showcase Nick's talent and let him lead the dance with confidence, JUST ONCE before he goes home.

I'm with you Eagle Eye, I'd love to see him do a Jive routine down the road. Not quite yet, though! I'm not sure he's ready for Peta's idea of a jive routine!

I only watched Nick dance yesterday and today I stumbled upon everyone's scores from last night.... I can't believe Nick is second to last at the bottom. Is the show trying to buss him?? I don't think Bonner is any better than Nick to get higher scores and even Charo for that matter is quite laughable that she got a higher score...

I went back and saw Peta's Foxtrot with Nyle and now I definitely think the choreography was the main issue along with the song. They needed a more even paced song like this one so they could club in the fast routines with the slow ones and then it wouldn't have looked so hectic. Nick's nerves didn't help but I don't think that was the major problem with that routine.



Even though Charo getting the same score as Nick seems ridiculous, the judges have done it in the past to boost contestants they know won't last long anyways. No point in criticizing her too much when she might just last a week or 2 anyways. I do think they see potential in Nick and honestly even if they were criticizing Nick, the writing was on the wall that they were criticizing Peta's routine as well. That actually bodes well in the sense that she might take those into account and play to Nick's strengths in the coming weeks instead of just throwing brilliant choreography which is not executed well.

I remember when they all danced the same style so the judging was pretty much the same. This was ways back in DWTS season. I wish they'd go nack to that format and having contestants that never had music or rhythm performances as part of their craft.

That makes more sense to me as a viewer with no knowledge of dance. If it was same dance per week I might learn something about the techniques of each dance.
This way it's like everyone takes a different test with differing degrees of difficulty then ranked somehow. Sorta strange.
